"Case Closed" is by Gerald Posner, and as far as I can tell it is THE authority on the subject. The physics of the assassination (the second bullet's path, the head movement from the third shot) show conclusively that the shots came from behind and up--from the sixth floor of the depository.
I have no idea. But everything I've read supports that there was more than one person involved. I don't think we'll ever know for sure.
this is JFK week on the history channel; porgrams providing very interesting details. http://www.historychannel.com/jfk/ if you believe in the conspiracy theory, you may agree with this hypothesis; ===3 contract killers, with drug traffic / intelligence connections, from Marseilles, France were hired to do the killiing. ===they were flown to Mexico City, and later driven to the US border, where they were picked up and driven to Dallas. ===they stayed in a safe house near the Daley Plaza ====2 shooters were stytioned from above (in separate building); one was stationed parallel to the car (grassy knoll) ====after the assasination, they stayed in the same safe house for ~ 10 dats; then they were flown in private plane to Montreal. ===then they flew, via commercial airline, to Buena Aries; they were paid in Herorin
Okay. Someone on this board is Oliver Stone... But I believe there was more than one, maybe three gunmen. But what if LHO did really pull one of the triggers? And what if LHO was the actual "scapegoat" at the same time? If modern day terrorists will "take the hit" and even commit suicide to further their cause, why couldn't Oswald choose the shortest straw? I think he was in on it, and got the shortest straw.
Would anyone who said LHO did it alone like to explain this? or would like to explain why the presidents brain was missing when he got back to washington?
no edit: picture came from http://www.grandsubversion.com/jfk_assassination/single_magic_bullet_theory/magicpg2.htm
Bullsh*t. No expert marksman has been able to fire 3 shots from the same bolt-action rifle in the timeframe that the Warren Commission said Oswald fired them in. In order for Oswald to be the lone assasin, he would have had to have been the greatest marksman in history. Nice try, T_J junior.
Even if he made the shot. All other evidence still suggests multiple shots. I don't see how people can dismiss the evidence. It is what it is.
Another tidbit: The witnesses who heard the shots all said that they believed the 3 shots each came from the same place.
I always wondered why no Kennedy ran for president after Bobby's assassination. Can you believe one family had two assassinations in 5 years? I can't believe this was America. Anyways, Teddy should have ran but didn't he kill some girl by driving over a bridge.
Oswald's nickname in the military was sh#t shot. He was not a good shot. There's just too much weird stuff here for me not to believe that there was a conspiracy...at least one other person acting in concert. Changing parade routes...taking parade angles prohibited by secret service guidelines...the perfection of Dealy Plaza for triangular fire...Oswald's defection to the Soviet Union and his trips to the embassy in Mexico City...the internal FBI memos pre-Warren Commission saying, "we have to convince people Oswald was the lone assassin"....witnesses dying at such astronomical rates that the chances are infintesimal. It's all too much for me to believe one guy did this alone...particularly when you study his evacuation route from the 6th floor of the book depository...the people who would have seen him who didn't...and the people who did see him chilling with a coke in a break room just moments after.
What about the countless witnesses that heard shots (and saw smoke plumes) coming from behind the picket fence? Why did so many people converge to that area right after the shooting? I don't see how anyone who has seen the Zapruder film can say that the headshot didn't come from the front. Or the throat shot. Kennedy grabs his throat. If he was shot from behind (in the neck), why wouldn't he grab the back of his neck?
don't think so. several witnesses remembered hearing a pop and a bit of smoke from the wooden fence / grassy knoll areas. no witnesses knew exactly how many shots there were; they rememebered hearing the pop sounds. the admitting physican toke xray of jfk before his body was cut up. it showed bullet wounds (in the back of head + middle back). the Warren Commission did not get to see this xray / photo had they seen this, they would conclude there was more than 3 shots.
Dunno if he minds me posting this, but one of Major's professors at the LBJ school says that once Castro is gone, it'll come out that he was behind the assasination. I'll let him explain it in more detail though.
I love the "Men Who Killed Kennedy" Series...It's on the History Channel and is pretty good...I watch it every year if i can...I have TIVO recording it so I can watch it all back to back, something I haven't been able to do ...
Actually, Teddy ran in 1980 against Carter in the Democratic primaries. Carter beat him, of course, and went on to lose to Reagan. There's a little bit on the primary battle near the bottom of this link: http://gi.grolier.com/presidents/ea/bios/39pcart.html
From the Warren Report: In accordance with standard Marine procedures, Oswald received extensive training in marksmanship. During the first week of an intensive 8-week training period he received instruction in sighting, aiming, and manipulation of the trigger. He went through a series of exercises called dry firing where he assumed all positions which would later be used in the qualification course. After familiarization with live ammunition in The .22 rifle and .22 pistol, Oswald, like all Marine recruits, received training on the rifle range at distances up to 500 yards, firing 50 rounds each day for five days. Following that training, Oswald was tested in December of 1956, and obtained a score of 212, which was 2 points above the minimum for qualifications as a „sharpshooter“ in a scale of marksmansharp-shooterexpert. In May of 1959, on another range, Oswald scored 191, which was 1 point over the minimum for ranking as a „marksman.“ The Marine Corps records maintained on Oswald further show that he had fired and was familiar with the Browning Automatic rifle, .45 caliber pistol, and 12-gage riot gun
From the Report of the Select Committee on Assassinations of the U.S. House of Representatives: C. The Committee believes, on the basis of the evidence available to it, that President John F. Kennedy was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy. The Committee is unable to identify the other gunman or the extent of the conspiracy. Findings
