Perle has strong ties to whoever is willing to cut him checks, whether the money comes from Riyadh or Tel Aviv.
The Republicans know they have to make major inroads in demographics they traditionally have not carried--especially Latinos and non-Protestants of conservative or orthodox faiths. People of the Jewish faith are obviously one demographic they believe they can make some gains--and conservative fiscal policies and ME foreign policy might be ways to do it--at least for some of the more conservative Jews. I think it is going to be a challenge though. The louder or more obvious Republicans reinforce the Christian right, their major grass roots support, I suspect the Jews that even generally support lower taxes are still going to vote Demo.
