The New York Jets signed Jonathan Grimes off the Texans practice squad today. The former William & Mary running back is now on New York's 53-man roster.

In other unrelated news, the Dolphins cut Troy Nolan today.

Love it how this season's opponents pick up guys who were on our roster and drop them after we play. Guess this has been going around for awhile but I'm also glad Grimes gets his chance. Best of luck!

That sucks, Grimes was good depth to have but a 4th string RB isn't something we need to worry about right now.

Nolan might be a decent pick up if Demps injury is more serious then we are expecting.

I don't get this, Bilal Powell finally showed them something, even as a 3rd down back, and then they pickup Grimes? Is this just because the Texans play them in a couple of weeks?

So they lose Revis and gain Grimes. Seems fair.

I bet. So scary we could have lost Foster this route in 2009

Jean may be back next week and anyways we don't rely on purging an opponent's practice squad to win. We rely on JJ Watt.

I remeber reading somewhere one of the Jets players is a RB converted to CB or vice versa that they primarily use on special teams. Could be they are moving that guy up and need Grimes to fill in that role as a special teams RB.

on the "going deep with foster" show, he said he was considering going to the jets but changed his mind at the last hour and had interest from the team that used to play in houston. :p

I had high hopes for grimes in two years. =(

I like Nolan and was surprised he was cut. Demos has played well but Nolan is quality depth @ the safety position. We could had used him in special teams and back up free safety. Demps is a strong safety (or am I wrong?). I understand in wade's scheme the safeties are interchangeable.

Demps plays both, I like what he brings. I agree with Nolan>Keo, but apparently the coaches value ST's for backup guys.

Davin Meggett was signed to the practice squad to take Grimes' spot.

yep RB Joe McKnight just got changed to CB, he played cornerback in highschool, and he is not happy with the decision.

also Kyle Wilson the other CB in the team didnt take those news very well.
