"Tropical thunderstorms ... can tower up to 50,000 feet (15,240 meters). At the altitude it was flying, it's possible that the Air France plane flew directly into the most charged part of the storm – the top," Henry Margusity, senior meteorologist for AccuWeather.com, said in a statement.

My theory and rant, because any and every darn thing that gets covered in the media now gets thrust into our consciousness already. Cant tell the the difference between real threats, real concerns and over-hyping for attention and ratings. Local threats get as high a grade of danger as plane crashes now.

Anything from killer germs in the house, flu outbreaks, water and fuel shortages, environmental concerns, deadly storms, terrorism, murderers in the neighborhood, economic collapse all those things are potential killers that deserve our utmost attention and put us in "grave" danger. People pay attention to the train wrecks. So they'll try to report as much train wrecks as possible.

Thing is, what REALLY are you supposed to do? Life has its risks. Not saying these reasons are why but can see how Fatty or others just say screw it I'm joking and drinking regardless.

In this thread it is perfectly acceptable for people to express their opinion. I take offense on the folks that continue to express their outrage much later on in completely unrelated discussions.

Maybe you don't get it. We were all laughing about certain posts I had made at that crawfish boil a few weeks ago. Any particular reason your stance has changed?

If this is the reason I'm just going to jump to conclusion by that the plane flew right into a buildup of particles charges. The plane probably act as a sponge absorb all that charge of energy could pretty much overloaded the electronic of the plane and giving off high energy burst after the release.

I'm no professional in this field but watching alot of science documentaries really makes you have respect for the law of physics/natures in this Universe.

Don't get what? Sheesh, maybe after 6 beers people dying is funny?

All I said in this thread is that your timing sucked. You can't make a joke like that leading into a tragic story and expect everyone just to think its fine and dandy.

Recall that old Simpson's episode where Homer has to go to some drivers ed class? He's forced to watch a movie like "Death flows red on the highway" where they're showing all this gruesome footage. The narrator says "now there's an appealing fellow! They're a-peeling him off the sidewalk now!" Homer laughs and says "it's funny 'cause I don't know them."

That pretty much sums up my feelings. I will say that the one that got me banned last year was deserved because someone DID know them.

But being outraged by this one is just stupid. And I think it has more to do with my "banned" comment than anything else, which was why there wasn't any b****ing about the "LOST" references.

I'm not outraged, I can laugh at death most of the time too.

You just picked a bad spot to put in a French joke. Its like that big thread a while back about the dude who tried to jump over the Great Wall with his motorcycle and ended up plunging to his death. Half the people on the board thought it was funny, the other half were appalled.

Eh, it's a bit different. That's a guy choosing to do a crazy and dangerous stunt.

This is a group of people that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It's like making a joke about the situation in which a guy gets killed because he was hit by a drunk driver.

Right, but if people are pissed off about one guy dying attempting something stupid... you can imagine its even greater when you're talking about 200+ people tragically killed.

I saw a video of a guy get electrocuted on a rail way car in India today. It is kinda funny b/c the guy was trying to show off. Or maybe, I'm just a sicko. I don't know if I should post it or whether the council will come after me.

You just don't get it do you? Try to keep on the topic. Answer yes or no. Do you think this plane crash incident that kill over 200 is funny or even kind of funny?

It not that some of us here don't have a sense of humor. It's more to do with the timing and how it's been use.

Hilarious. Again, some of you take stuff waaaay too personally. With that type of anger, I'd suggest you take a look in the mirror. I'm already loved by many, thank you.

    Someone agrees w/ me!

fatty and swoly immediately derail two threads to 4+ pages in a single day. You're in good company guys. (I'm sure both will not take this in a good way.)
