You wouldn't hate Jon Barry's guts if he played for Dallas and started running up the court waving his "3" hand sign in the second quarter like he just won the championship? Jon Barry has done an amazing job for us, but I'm just being realistic. He is overconfident. Also, I haven't seen anything dirty from Howard. Sure he made a hard foul, but Mutombo breaks people bones! I consider guys like Charles Oakley and Karl Malone dirty players, not Josh Howard.
I was correct.... San Antonio won the series 4-1, and outscored Nuggets by an average of 14.25 points. To put that in our perspective, we killed the Nuggets in our last game with them of the season, while Camby was injured. About the other part, I just get uncomfortable when I see overconfidence, because it usually leads to a loss.
What Sura did to Joshy was justified, he created those circumstances. In game 2, Bowen and him got tangled up and Joshy got up and walked over him and stood over him. Bob Sura didn't forget that **** and thats why he stood over that punk. Joshy has been asking for it the whole series, from standing over Bowen, to blocking wesley to the ground and taking out his mouth piece and staring at him on the floor, to trying to put a hard foul on Yao Ming without going for the ball. Sura was just doing what he had to do and his timing and the way he did it it was just perfect.
You've got to realize that we rescued him from Atlanta. I don't think there is any harm in him celebrating and displaying the 3 finger sign (after all doesn't Deke wag his finger after a blocked shot, and did you forget about Mario's kiss of death). I remember Cedric Maxwell once said he was throwing a huge party 'cause the Clippers finally won a game when he was playing there late in his career. Barry probably felt like his career was over when he was in Atlanta. This is probably his last chance along with Wesley, Sura, Deke, etc. to reach the Holy Grail of the basketball world. If it gets him and the team fired up, by all means let him and the rest of the team celebrate. JB has inspired this team with his enthuisam, behind the back passes, pulling up for a three on the fast break, hustle plays, etc and it's contagious. With the exception of the SA,T-mac miracle comeback, HR basketball was boring before the addition of Barry not to mention our record sucked. Even if you don't like him, you've got to admit he's been huge in the post season and since he joined the team. He doesn't pull any flagrant foul crap or start fights, so if the worst you can say about him is that he's overconfident and flashes a three point sign after he or Sura, padgett or Wesley hit a three, then you need to go seek some anger/crazy management courses along with Avery Johnson.
I don't give a rat's ass that JB is cocky..as long as he got ammunition to back it up. And so far, he's doing just that. He's not bringing in the arrogance right off the bench. He has to get his shots in and get on a roll before he talks smack. And right now, that's fine. If he's talking smack w/o backing it up, then there would be some issues. And as far as I'm concerned, Sam Cassell and Mario Elie had that same swagger in our championship runs so why can't JB? If what he does is helping us and gets us further into the playoffs, wave that "3" sign all day long for all I care. And there's a difference between Barry and Howard. You can hate Barry's cockiness but he's not a dirty player. If you haven't seen anything that Howard as done that could be called cheap/dirty, then you basically have been watching a different game from the rest of us. One moment that still suck in my head: Game 2 in Dallas in the 2nd half when there was confusion whether it was a foul on Yao or a jump ball, Sura was talking/motioning to the ref that it should be a jump ball and you can clearly see in the replay where Howard starts jogging in Sura's direction and gave him a hard elbow to the back. Accident? Please.

Simple question. I like Barry most of the time (yes, I like the a-hole). I also scream at my TV from Austin when Howard takes a hard foul on Yao.
I don't really have a problem with hard fouls but when he fouls a guy and then stands over him like some wannabe punk, then I have a problem with that. Yao would rip that guy apart if he were so inclined. Or when he's running down the court, suddenly changes directions to get in Bowen's path, and then stops on a dime to get the foul, I have a problem when all of a sudden he tries to start something with Bowen. He got his bogus call and freethrows by pulling a cheap move, and then he wants to get mad for getting run over? Nothing more than a punk.
anyone have a video clip of Yao going after howard when he got fouled and sura throwing howard down?...
Now what are we going to do to stop these 2 idiots? I think if Dampier is close to Yao during their offensive rotation, he needs to come double on Stack so he can get rid of the ball. Sura and Barry can just kick Howard in the balls during the game and knock his ass out. Or bust him in that Forrest Gump Cadillac Grill of his. What do you guys think?
