Wow, JT can jump that's for sure. I like him a lot, but given the team we have....especially the coach we have, he'll never find minutes. Unless the game is a blowout.
If Taylor isn't the best athlete on the team please tell me who is. The guy has, without a doubt, the quickest first step and most likely the highest vertical leap of anyone on the team.
Thank you. IMO, JT can be a contributor or a bust. In the off-season, dude must work on his weaknesses and watch tapes until his eye falls off.
Still a season or so away from being able to be a real contributor. He needs to work on his defense and some on the finer points of his offense in real game time. I agree with DD, he probably could use a tour of the D-League, before long.
JT also plays defense. Didn't anyone else see him working out there? He's definitely a willing defender. He just needs to learn to get more comfortable with the offense and I think he can contribute. If the Rockets acquire another wing in a T-Mac trade, send him to the D-League with Joey Dorsey.
That dunk was awesome but it has done nothing to convince me that we should keep him around. Ironically his greatest strength right now is his defense. His offense is just not NBA level.
Um, offense is his greatest strength. He's trying to adjust from having the ball 80 percent of time and scoring 30 points per night to playing off the ball a lot and trying to let the game come to him. Give him some more time to get comfortable, he can also shoot.
The same was said about Brooks. He was always full throttle and force things to happen. Now that he's "slowed down" and let the game come to him, he's able to create more for him self and for the team. A lot of our guys are and were like this. Head, Wafer and now Ariza and Taylor.
Agreed. Its clear he has no problem physically, but its his me-me approach that doesn't mesh well with our team philosophy right now. If he was on the Nets , for example, he could easily be starting since they have no real direction and purpose.
JT was the only reason why I kept watching the game in the fourth quarter and he delivered! I feel like his mind is racing while he's in there. He needs to find a rhythm but he needs minutes to accomplish that.
lol anyone else noticed that verajeo (spelling?) complaining to the refs that the ball went back through the hoop and was trying to get it waived of? damn sad ****...
Adelman will give him time but I at least am not seeing it right now. His defense imo is coming around much faster which did surprise me. When he attacks the basket however I dont see him getting enough elevation when he is contested which leads to JT getting blocked. Sure... if everybody moves out of the way he will elevate and dunk easily but that isnt whats most important. That being said I do hope he figures it out. We can always use another good scorer.
it was sick, wicked and nasty! but before the dunk did anyone see the hesitation he had to even move on the court. Hopefully that dunk puts a little confidence into this guy to do that whenever he gets the lane.
