I can understand that he is frustrated, but it does not speak well of his IQ to voice his frustration on Twitter, especially considering the fact that he is nothing more than a borderline NBA player; and I am all for removing dumb players from the team.
I don't know man, I think an organization treats it's players as people or as assets - it's one or the other...it's not like you make one guy a person and another an asset. The players are going to see through it at the end of the day. It's like any company...it's the culture of how an organization is defined. Under Dawson/Rudy T - everyone was treated like a valuable person. Not sure it's as much that way now. But not sure what the impact of that is either. Guys like Battier, Yao, and even Chuck Hayes don't seem to be complaining. So I am not sure the Rockets org is being too cold.
I really feel bad for this guy. I know he can score in bunches, and it's sad to see him not get his chance. Hopefully we can find a place for him. Good luck.
I'm on the side that says he should be happy with a roster spot. To have the Toyota Center to go and practice at. He's young and if he really wants it and is determined, he will get it. He's been dealt to a situation that has alot of the same type player he is. I dont feel bad for the guy, although i wish something could give for him to have a shot. Regardless if hes on the Rockets or another team, i'd like to see what he can do for a long stretch on a team. Hopefully it doesnt become a bigger issue and is tossed out with the garbage.
I thought Taylor was going to the D-league to make room for Eric Dampier? What happen to that???????????????????????
I really hate when players still with the organization, even if their days are numbered, and players who have since left say the Rockets are treating them badly. I can't help but think this is one of the reasons players don't want to play for Houston. Artest, Tmac, Charles Barkley, JT (who am I missing?) Have come out and said that at one point the Rockets organization treated them poorly. This kind of reputation gets around in the NBA and with players. How many times have we heard how much the Lakers shower their players with luxury and opulence? A lot. How many times have we heard that of the Rockets Organization?
consider the players you mentioned. artest - freakin' nutz. remember the underwear game 7 inciden? tmac - do i really need to go here? haven't you seen the toronto video? charles - he clashed with personalities on the team and was a poor fit. he was/is one of the most outspoken people in history and oft wrong. pippen - f**k pippen hakeem - would have a beef and yet he still is involved with the rockets. landry - could have a beef, but all indications are/were that he would come back as a f/a if possible the three most important factors in luring a fa are always and will always be #1 the money #2 the ability to win #3 the glam factor
Absolutely right. I've been saying for over a year that people on this forum are giving Morey wayyyy too much credit considering he has so far done nothing in terms of getting results on the court. The fact is he put this roster together, and now he deserves just as much blame as anyone for this roster not working. You can't just completely rely on stats and finding undervalued role players. You have to have a superstar, you can't have a roster full of guys expecting to play and then not expect guys to become disgruntled, etc.
If your talking the above caliber of players, then the money is going to be available where ever they want to go. #2 and #3 go together in the sense that winning will get you glamor. So it comes down to wining, and only that for top players. The next tier down however is quite different. Some of these guys wont earn or deserve the money their asking for, and could really hamstring a team from signing other players due to their own contract. Thus really subtracting from their chance to win. While some teams like NY may bring glamor without winning, it may not be the type of glamor they were looking for.
money will not be available to all teams. this is the salary cap era. only a few teams will have enough money or assets for that tier of players. money, first and foremost, is the biggest factor in most every decision.
I do agree with that, Morey takes some blame. But Rick is the captain and I beat between the two they right the ship soon. Morey is quick to make changes if something isn't working. Rick on the other hand....? Sometimes alittle slow for me. Defense sucks right now and roles haven't come together. JT on the other hand, he can be patient or get "V-span"ed. Lol. And sent home to mommy for all I care. Hopefully Morey could get a steal like when he got Scola.
Careful bro, pointing this out got me branded a "troll" last season. Yet no major free agent would even give us the time of day and our "splash" was to overpay Brad Miller, so it looks like we were right.
I can't believe all you guys whining about this being Morey's fault for getting too many good players on the team. We're talking about the 16th or 17th best player under contract with the team. Who gives a **** if his feelings are hurt? He should've thought about that when he refusing to pass the ball all those times, or clanking shot after shot. Give me a break. It's hard to find a taker for him because he hasn't really shown much of anything while he was here. Usually you can play up a guy's potential, but with JT the best you can do is to say that one day he might be a roster-filler? That's not exactly an easy sale.
