Here's a crazy thought... If you're a bench warmer and you want to crack the rotation: Be the first and last player on the floor for practice Work on developing your weaknesses Learn your role, the game plan situations and where you can exploit the opposing team PAY YOUR DUES If you aren't good enough to crack the rotation look in the mirror. I know there are times that some players who should get a chance are looked over. But in this case, how much has JT really shown that he is even par with any other options be run?
Haha. I'm glad we can kind of agree. I hope he takes that shot, even if he misses. I'd rather know we have to rebuild from the ground up than be stuck in the middle forever. And I don't mean to sound negative. I don't think Morey has done a bad job by any means, and I believe this current team is a lot better than their record shows. I completely understand how JT feels and I think it's stupid that people are criticizing him for being upset.
Interested to see this upcoming trade. It seems like it might be more than just JT for a pick since it is taking so long. Morey must be weighing offers and making sure he gets the best deal, whatever it is.
and we dont even know what he's frustrated about, even if it's about the team it could be taylor who's screwing up here. Wouldnt be the first time a player took something the wrong way or was too sensitive about something...Taylor hasnt been in the league long enough to know how these things play out, especially first hand. A vet may have a different view of what's going on.
JT isn't asking to get more minutes though. He's upset because he feels lied to. How is that hard to comprehend? It doesn't matter if the Rockets are treating him poorly or not, it's the fact that he feels they are. Who doesn't get upset when they feel they being treated unfairly? It doesn't matter whether his complaints have merit or not, because he is just expressing how he feel about the situation. If anyone is to blame it's Twitter because now we are making a big deal about nothing.
Come on studogg, why not care a little? Taylor is not a malcontent or bashing the orginization, it's the UNCERTAINTY he's probably having a hard time with. Taylor has done everything the Rockets have asked of him and possibly a little more by working hard being at the Rocket facilities all summer. Its been a while since the story broke that the Rockets were going to get rid of him. Not knowing where you'll end up or how you'll get there is a lot to carry around for a young guy that hasn't gone through it. Doesn't matter how much money he's making, fans throw that around like it should be ok to not have feelings because they make X amount of dollars. I wish him well wherever he ends up.
simple human nature indicates that we all become frustrated with employment from time to time; venting to family and friends is understandble. venting to a public media outlet is unnacceptable. i really think sports leagues need to take control of this. moreover, when putting your frustrations in the public arena, you are subject to scrutiny from the people. I look at him as very well paid and in a win/win situation. He either gets to stay on a team he seems to like, or he gets to go to a team that wants him and will give him an opportunity. no need to whine.
I think the NBA should include a section on this in the rookie orientation. I think some NBA players use Twitter as if it was a private arena.
Stud River, All I am saying is that the organization has not been completely on the players sides for awhile. And this is one of the reasons that Superstars do not want to come here.... While Morey is an excellent asset manager, these are people, and they talk to each other....treating them simply as an asset is just not good for reputation around the league with others players. DD
I don't know if players outside the rotation or on the trading block are ever entirely happy about their professional situation, whether they are on a 72-win team or a 15-win team. Some teams just have scrubbier unhappy people. It's just life in the NBA.
lol.... Defense doesn't exist right now... it's needed but it's not happening... so it won't hurt to remove Battier.
you really don't get it. Battier has done nothing above avg. on perimeter defending. He can't stay with his man, blows right by him. Taylor held Kobe down last season.
Unacceptable to you, but not to the league just yet. I don't think he was being all that negative. I agree you have every right to not like what he said or how he did it, just trying to get you to understand his side. It's not your life that's being altered. I respect and understand what you're saying, it's just a new day and age with all the social media. I don't always agree with how some of these avenues are used, but it just is what it is. Again, I think the money has little to do with it, he's making more than most of us but he's not making never have to work another day in his life kind of money. I get your side of it, I'm just saying.
Battier is the best defensive perimeter player on the team. Morey said as much. LOL at Taylor holding down Kobe.
