Does he have to be? Mo Williams was an All-star. Do you want him instead? He was most improved player..

Ironically he played worse against Collison. :)

What are you going on about?

DD claims Brooks outplayed most PG, I'm saying that isn't true.

And what stat are you trying to show me? Chris Paul had 16 points, 10 assists, 11 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks that game. Brooks had 27 points, 4 assists, 1 rebound and 1 steal. Brooks didn't outplay Chris Paul that game.

Congrats to Taylor! He shot 47% from the field, led the team in scoring and did a good job of rebounding. I'm not too worried about his assists, but he will definitely have to do a better job taking care of the ball. Taylor needs to make better decisions and not force things to the basket. Most of his turnovers resulted from him trying to do too much. With Chase not being aggressive until the last game & Hill not doing a good job of posting up, Taylor became the primary offensive weapon. IMO, Taylor will do much better playing with a few more scoring options, at least he won't have to shoulder the scoring load by himself. There is a reason that RA really loves this guy, he can be a dynamic scorer and has shown the ability to defend his position.

Right? So, he is currently a d leaguer at best?

The above poster just mentioned he shot 47% from the field. That's damn good for a SG.

Plus, he is coming off his rookie season. Give the man some time before you throw him under the bus.

I'm aware of what you're trying to say. You're relying on hyperbole to do it. For example, "if Brooks is so good, why isn't he an all-star?"

We both know this has been discussed to hell on Clutchfans anyways. I just don't know why it's so popular to underrate Brooks.

The game log I linked just shows that Brooks is a great player and being a defensive liability doesn't negate that. The other team having a great PG doesn't hurt Brooks. We have places on our team that need improvement; Aaron Brooks isn't one of them.

He needs to step his D up. Period.

He got owned by Collison in the last game of the yr.

Maybe if you read the previous posts you wouldn't need to "waste time".

My point is simple. Brooks plays good defense, but he does not out-defend nor outplay most PGs in the league. Like I said, if he did, he would be an all-star. That is hardly a hyperbole.

Brooks is a terrific player, I never denied that nor did I ever say we needed to improve on him.... The fact that we are going over this is an example of digression through miscomprehension.

Not everybody can have a Manu on the bench. Those guys who want an elite backup without paying elite money are somewhat delusional.

This is so true it is not even funny

AB is better then CP3, Rondo, Rose, Tyreke, Nash, Wall, Billups, Parker, Dwill, ect, ect, he might as well be the best PG in the league.

Another very true statement, just look at how he played against Darren Collison.......

But this tread is not about AB

Are people really saying that this guy is hatting????

Someone open a tread, just to say that Taylor got in the Summer League All Tournament Team, and you come here, and you say it is the most meaningless award ever, ARE PEOPLE REALLY CALLING YOU A HATER???

You would make an intelligent post if you actually said, that he did not show, the passing, the ball distributing, that he was supposed to show, congratulating him, but saying that he has not shown enough for YOU to trust his game and play him as a backup, actually you did, just after people classified your hater post, too late my friend

    Did Taylor show Improvement??? YES

Did Taylor show the passing ability that will make him a consistent player in a good team??? Not yet

Does these conclusions mean that the award is meaningless??? No

Did this guy only had 2 weeks of rest, and then started working hard to improve his game??? YES

Did this guy improved his attitude, and actually showed energy and tried to do some other things, like rebounding??? YES

Can this guy be a very reliable 2??? Time, work, and opportunity will tell

I meant overall he plays better......his D is average at best.

As for Taylor, if you guys want to call me a hater, fine, I HATE stupid basketball......unless they can score efficiently.

At some point stupidity becomes quality when they can score the ball efficiently....it is a fine line which for me is around 44-45% or so...

    :)

    This.

Aldeman has sufficient info about JT that we are not privy to. Luckily, only a few JT haters.

JT started to come along in the latter portion of last season. What I meant is that JT must have impressed Aldeman during practices (something we are not privy to) so he did get a little run.

JT ain't going back down to the Valley DD. I heard he ain't fond of 2-cent hookers.

JT will be back in the Valley, and maybe he can afford some of the 2-bit hookers instead.

    ;)

Look, it is great that you guys like him....I like tons of younger developing players....and hope JT comes along.

Right now, I don't think he can help....on offense, on D he actually could help right now.

2nd rd. projects typically don't get much playing time unless they're on really bad teams, and don't throw AirBud out there, he wasn't a project. Nothing about Taylor's game is particularly concerning except what you've already touched on, his inability to be aware of his teammates. Getting to really know the system may indeed help a lot with this, but all and all J.T doesn't seem like the right kind of player in a "movement" based offense.

Agreed, I hope he can improve, and by the way guys, being sent to the valley to work on your game is not a demotion it is a chance to get some court time and to work on your weaknesses.

I think both Pat Pat and JT could be down there some this year.
