after his last contract, o'neal should have to pay 6 million a year to play in the nba. boston's giving him 1.33M for every shot he managed to hit against them last year in the playoffs.
The celts are all in for 2 years. If perkins has trouble coming back, or when Garnett is struggleing a bit, O'neal fits nicely. 2 yrs all in and mle for o'neal isn't bad. He seem to have lost alot of his lift like garnett. This way, garnett and jermaine can stay at the 30 minute mark.
who are the tards saying oneal is better than perkins. perkins is arguably one of the the top 3 centers in the league. id take howard over him, a healthy yao but who knows when that and how long that can happen for. his defense is great, i remember some stat about players shooting percentage against him it was ridiculous like 1 in 5 shots vs perkins is made. he is 7+ foot version of chuck hayes with blocks. jermaine can man the front while he is out and then come off the bench for garnett or perkins. he has a decent 17 footer, not quite the skillset of rasheed but not many players if any have the skillset of sheed. celtics could do a lot worse and probaly not much better for that price.
this will be the most underrated acquisition of the year....he's "only" 31...considering how many games he's missed due to injury he's got less mileage than some of the other high schoolers. He can give you a good 10-12 pts a game, which is all boston needs from him...his impact will be on the boards and blocks...if that's his main focus he can still get 8- 9 and 2 consistently, for about 25 mins of play.
