Best is when Lin is the most ball dominant player, but Haden gets really good stats to. Lins stats are not important. he just has to get players going and hit shots. He actually can free Harden up more through spacing and help Harden play better without having the ball more. Lin will be ball dominant, but sometimes defer it directly to Parsons or mostly Harden so they can create. or he just plays a simple pass to the perimeter or three point line if the defense is focussed on him and he sees a lane for Harden. That way Harden will be involved real much and can score more efficient+ create Assists easier. imagine how hard to defend that is. You never know if Lin is gonna penetrate, 3 ball, go for an Assist or sets plays and spaces so other can create. I think that is why many teams have so much problems defending the Rockets. Really Lin and Harden will make each other better through their presence and great feel for the game. Harden should just never Heroball again. But i think he figured that out, unlike Kobe who needed 10 years for this

Exactly. If LeBron and KDurant are giving their 100% effort day in day out even against the teams like the Bobcats, how could any other player, let alone someone who hasn't established himself in the league, be so arrogant and think he is too good to give his best and play down to some scrub teams? That would be so laughable.
^this. And don't even bother with gate, he's an idiot. So a winner needs a big game involving glory/fame/$$$ to motivate himself to play hard? Last time I remembered MJ stepped it up even against the worst teams to show them who's boss. Plus he didn't rely on Phil Jackson for self-confidence. Everyone steps up their game when a lot is on the line. What separates winners from losers is the drive to outperform when it isn't.
Many examples of players who fade when the lights are brightest - Karl Malone, Chris Webber, Vince Carter - to name three off the top of my head. You're letting your emotional animousity against one player or group of people cloud your judgement. Winners = willing to take responsibility whenn the pressure is the greatest + talent to carry it through.
His upside will be high only if he can develop some 1 vs 1 moves such as step-back and pull jumper off dribble. I only watched 6-8 Houston games this year and there were many situations with shot-clock under 7 where Lin with the ball in his hand ran PNR and ended up passing to contest 3 point shot by Morris or Parson that is big no-no. If Lin can create his own shots with high %, he could be all-star level pg in the future. Until then he will be just slight-above average pg in the league.
The last time he hit one of those or the time before that, Parsons + Delfino took him aside during a time out and gave him pep talk/advice. I'm pretty sure he's aware of the issue, hopefully he works on that.

He is super smart, and a quick thinker, already you can see major improvement from the first week - when his job changed from the main guy to the 2nd fiddle. While he may not be top notch now, he will probably get to that 2nd tier of PGs eventually and stay there for years. DD
