You do realize the difference between not "close" and not "better?" I mean you are talking about a difference of 4 minutes in playing time, and a point or less in almost all major stats. That is as close as it gets. Is Lin better? Not right now, but the numbers are close. I believe that the numbers are actually getting closer. Numbers from their last ten:

    Lin- 13.3ppg 5.7 apg 2.8 rpg .474fg% 30.8 minutes
    Lowry- 10.4ppg 5.6 apg 5.1 rpg .378% 28 minutes

He's getting 8 million a year. We are just holding on to the extra 3 million until his 3rd year because of CBA rules.

It is when you shoot one less shot as well and turn ball over nearly one less time a game.

What is the point in arguing about this? Why not just let it ride and enjoy the show?

The kid has room to improve. The majority of the arguments against LOFs are based on "not enough consistency - need to see more, esp. w/r/t shooting." That's not an invalid position. Let's give it a year or two and see.

Harden doesn't get 28/9 on 62.5% from both 3pt and field. Not even close.

He is getting overpaid this year by $13Million.

Have Lin fans basically boiled down to ignoring the actual argument of the posts they respond, and instead in a bot-like manner simply focus on two words and interpret that as hating? I wrote 2 paragraphs discussing the monetary conversion into draft pick positions, hence allowing for comparison between FA acquisitions and young players on rookie contracts, and all I get is the vanilla bot response that Lin fans always use whenever anyone says anything negative about him?

It's depressing, because I think Lin is a fascination player to discuss as a fan, with lots of talent but lots of warts in his game. It's unfortunate that his fans aren't basketball fans.

P.S. Not everyone who put money in the tip jar gets contributor status. You have to put in a fair amount, one that I obviously have not met(whatever the amount is). But then again, if you've contributed, you may actually know this.

lol ridiculous, I'm sure he would be demanding A LOT more if he is going to shoot like that on a regular basis. Some people are demanding too much from Lin.

Look I don't want to be labelled as ana irrational Lin fan... I've been screaming at my TV all season long every time he bricks a wide open 3 or miss a FT or drive to within a foot of the basket only to kick out or commit a TO. There are games and even times within a game when you just throw up your hands and think maybe just maybe it isn't inconceivable that he was waived 3 times. Then there are games like last night that make you believe in Christmas again.

LOL. So you are right and everybody else is wrong & knows nothing about basketball. And any evidence that we provide is circumstantial. Makes sense.

And the funny thing about your post is when this conversation happened before & you explained your point more thoroughly I actually agreed with you that sometimes yes they do close out on him & you acknowledged my point. And yet you decided to bring it up again following the Dubs game something that we had already come to a consensus on.

At the same time, there have also been plenty of times when he was wide open & commentators pointed it out. But obviously they no nothing & you know everything. But to say that they close out on him all the time is just lies.

Look how WIDE open Lin is for that 3 at the 1:43 mark, Clippers didn't even move to defend him & yet you say they ALWAYS close out on him...

Regular basis does not mean every game and but I do expect my starting PG to shoot better from the 3 than my starting power forward especially if he is getting paid 8 million a year. He has the worst 3 point shooting percentage of all the rotation players outside of Asik and Smith.

There was a reason why I focused solely on that sentence of your post. It was because I agreed with everything you said in your post just not that part. But please keep putting words in my mouth. Apparently I think you hate Lin even though I never said any such thing nor do i think you hate him & I am not a basketball fan even though I have been watching the NBA far before Lin went undrafted.

Let's stick to basketball please. If you disagree with my post I am more than happy to engage you on that discussion, I have no interest in participating in this LOF beef that exists on CF.

Clippers are a smart team for sure. The better defensive teams tend to leave Lin wide open often. I was surprised to see Curry guarding him so close last night o_O.

So would say you harden is shooting significantly better from the 3 than lin? Is shooting the 3 the end all of Lin deserving his contract? That's it? Nothing else?

I'm not even that big of a lin fan but he's turning around the corner, and you guys are expecting way too much from him. The team is still trying to gel together and it's a young team. Lately Lin and the team as a whole have been playing great since that losing streak.

I agree with you. So does torocan & the Houston commentators. But obviously Dudewah thinks differently because teams always close out on Lin.

BTW Ppat also shoots better than Harden from 3's if it wasn't clear enough, since I didn't include it in my post

Seems like you two are just having some kind of misunderstanding and arguing for too long o_O. Opportunities do present itself for Lin to drive even though they sag off of him often and I think that's when DudeWah wants to see Lin be more aggressive. Seems like you both would agree to this and that should be the end of it.

No dude. Per your post, you said, he should actually be paid 5 mill. And that's what he's being paid. 5 Mill.
