Yi is what you get when you mix elite athleticism with the mentality of a bum The bum part ends up winning
Lin's doing fine in the position he is in right now. If he was 1st/2nd option, he could average close to 20/8, but most likely wouldn't make the playoffs in the West. The East sucks so I'll say he could in the East. I don't think Lin is like a true 6th man on this team like he was earlier in the year. Seems like the Rockets just have a 6th man platoon of Asik, Lin, D-Mo now. Sometimes D-Mo comes off the bench first lately (not a bad call, especially if it's bad T-Jones night), so I don't expect Lin to average any better numbers. Some people on this board need to stop painting everybody commenting positively on Lin as a LOF. Learn the differences between a LOF, fan of Lin, and a Rockets fan commenting on something positive that Lin does. Honestly, if you can't stand any of it, add the user to your ignore list. Add those up there complaining about Lin not being mentioned on ESPN last night.
LoF means any Lin fan that puts Lin over the Rockets team. You can be a Rockets fan and a Lin fan, which also makes you NOT a LoF. Lin fans are fine. LoF's are unacceptable here.
The border between a LOF and fan of Lin is basically if you don't recognize that he has faults. Then there are just various degrees of each side. If you are a Rockets fan and Lin fan, you can still be a LOF if you cross that border. LOF is usually a derogatory term/acronym. You wouldn't call a (rational) fan of the Spurs who also happens to be a fan of Lin a LOF because LOF carries the meaning of disregarding anything else...or something like that.
It is not just for Lin either. oF means "Only Fan" or being a fan only of said player. The longer explanation is: - If you throw the entire team under a bus due to one player, you are a player only fan. - If you migrate from team to team chasing the player like flies to a piece of dung, you are a player only fan. - If you write posts disparaging player, coaches, GM's, and media heads because you feel they slighted your idol, you are DEFINITELY a player only fan. While player only fans are always bad as far as team fans are concerned, it is even less tolerable when it comes to Lin, because he is not that good of a player. LoF's are basically like Tebow fans.
This obsession on clutch fans with who is or is not a LOF is a bit laughable. Fans of Clyde Drexler were DOFs when he came to Houston after a long career in Portland. Fans of Kevin Garnett became GOFs when he went to Boston. Fans of Pippen and Barkley were POFs and BOFs when those players moved from their original teams. I know many Duke alums who are DOFs...they cheer for any NBA team that has a Duke player on it. That sort of attachment to a player over a team has a long tradition in the NBA and it's a good one for the league. Based on that standard, I am a LOF. I like to watch him play and I root for him.
Oh man, I just fundamentally disagree with you about how good a player Lin is. Which is fine I guess, since there's no changing view points at this point regarding Lin. I hate the Lin-Tebow comparison. It's ok if you are only comparing the fans, but comparing the two always insinuates Lin's skill level in the NBA is comparable to Tebow's skill level in the NFL (last time I cared to check, it was nonexistent).
Do you deny he has faults? Do you put him over the team? Do you not care about the team at all? If you say yes to any of the above, move to that Jeremy Lin fan site. Otherwise, stop calling yourself a LOF and call yourself fan of Lin. It has the word ONLY in it. I don't even know why LOFs are on this site...
I am definitely not comparing Lin to Tebow skill wise. Lin belongs in the NBA as a PG whereas Tebow does not belong in the NFL as a QB at all. I am comparing the fans of the two athletes. It is also fine to disagree on where we stand in terms of our opinions on Lin. It's just opinions is all and the only one that actually matters is McHales.
If you put out a supportive argument for Lin that LOH can not dispute, then you are automatically a LOF. Joining date will help too... In the earlier days, fans who cAlled out that Lin had the shortest leash is called LOF. Using XOF in an argument a lot usually indicates that the poster does not know what he / she is a talking about. We can set a box score system for the fans and measure them by the number of times a certain praise is used. For example, NLOFPG NLOHPG NLOFGPG fan x: 4. 1. 5
Just to add, here are some clues to help identify them: 1.) If they use the term LOH, or "Lin only Hater", then they are probably a LOF. There is no such thing as a LOH, only people who are fed up with the idiot LOF and those who just dont think Lin is good. No one joined this board to hate on Lin. That is a cop out to ignore criticism of him. 2.) If they claim LOF are not that bad, then they are probably a LOF. They are that bad.
Uhh. It's nothing like that. First came the LOF who then coined LOH. Lin was signed here. His obsessive fanbase found this site and twisted any and all discussion here into Lin discussion. The members here quickly got tired of the obsessive Lin fans and dubbed them Lin only Fans for only caring about Lin, not caring one bit about the rockets as a team and going at great lengths to prove that it was EVERYONE else's fault for Lins poor performances. Some even going as far as to call the organization as a whole two faced liars and claiming the coaching staff was racist. After being ridiculed for being Lin only fans they decided to name anyone who didn't share their views on Lin, Lin only haters. Which from the very beginning was an incorrect term. It always has been Lin only FAN haters.
i dont think there are lin only haters but why is it that lin gets most of the blame? whenever bev or harden messes up there may be 5 posts of people complaining but if lin has a turnover there will be 2 pages of b****ing.
