Nice to hear it from a basketball blogger I really respect.

Do you ever watch other NBA games besides the Rockets?

Parsons is way more than slightly above average. He has developed into a really good player and a far as I can tell he just keeps getting better.

Lin didn't miss a single game in the regular season

Harden was out for a few games. Parson and Delfino was out because of food poisoning. Lin played every regular season game. When Harden was out the first time, he scored 38 points against SA Spurs. When Harden was out for 2 games, he led the rockets defeat LA Clippers and the Magic.

McFail holding him back might actually be a blessing in disguise, long career, no worries.

You guys are right, Lin sucks, he's average and has no upside. We should all stop cheering for him and dog him at every opportunity.

People with any bball knowledge can tell Jeremy Lin is goign to be a star.

Some of these morons dissing Lin look real stupid doing it.
They just don't know, but the haters sound real dumb.

    Good spot up shooter

    Good slasher

    avg. P&R Handler

    Avg. on ball defender

    below avg. P&R defender

    Rank 12-15 overall SF

For a kid to come from being a second round developmental player, to a slightly above avg. starter within 2 years is HUGE

does he have room to grow absolutely

Nothing wrong in being above avg. as a first full year starter

since when did not thinking a certain player will turn into a star = hater?

Seems like we have some extremely thick homer glasses when looking at Rockets players.

In my opinion to be considered as a star, you have to be at least a top 8 player for your position.

Below are my list of PGs that are currently better than Lin.
Chris Paul, Tony Parker, Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose, Kyrie Irving, Steph Curry, Rajon Rondo, Deron Williams, Jrue Holiday, Damian Lillard, John Wall.

Some of these players are already matured and peaked, but the majority of them are either the same age as Lin or younger while producing at a higher level already.

Than there are the likes of Kemba Walker, Ty Lawson, Brandon Jennings who are either about the same age as Lin or younger while producing at comparable levels.

Sure in a couple of years, some of the older players in this list will start declining, but in just about every draft year there are all star quality stud rookies entering into the league as well.

Sure Lin will likely improve in the future, but so will the majority of the players I listed above. Unless the other PGs all suddenly stopped improving and no young stud PGs enters into the league in the coming years, I just can't see Lin turning into a star PG.

Not thinking that Lin will be a star is not "hating." Of course not. Haters are ones that look for bad performances from Lin just to justify their original assessment of Lin and deem his good performances as flukes or evidence of inconsistency. Then there is the outright hate, where he is called a scrub and say that the only reason he is here is because of Chinese money. Or that he is not a starter for no other reason than they think that every backup who has a good game is better than Lin, i.e., T.D., Bev. You know who they are and you know they exist and troll harder than any other group here.

Whether or not he'll be a star, it's opinion and conjecture and as fans of the Rockets, I'd like to think that positive thinking is better than negative thinking especially coupled with glimpses of promise. And in terms of the comparison above, please note that those other guards are given the keys to run the floor, whereas Lin gets sat and plays with a very short and often confusingly inconsistent leash and doesn't even get to play his own position.

How irony, isn't it ? McHale has been trying create a super star in Harden by marginalizing several players and the team but in the end he makes Harden look really bad and loses control of him.

Parsons is a pretty bad FT shooter, though. His line drives are sometimes Shaq-like, and he almost always seems to miss 1 of 2.

Lin needs to improve his shooting this summer. It will open up everything for him to become a star.

Holiday was just traded to NO. His stats are very bad. John Wall had a below 30% 3pt shooting for most of the season. He was so bad that he stopped shooting threes.
