Again, Tiger Woods is a great athlete. Jeremy Lin is a below average player getting the spotlight for being Asian just to appeal to the Asian market. It's one thing to be praised for being good at something. Which isn't the case for Lin.

Tiger Woods is great is irrelevant. Blacks would never have followed him if he wasn't Black, even if he was the next coming of Jesus in Golf. having asians root for jeremy lin is good. Because culturally and the way he talks , to asians he is like this yellow kid which talks and behaves black. This challenges their prejudices against blacks. You will not find a Jeremy Lin like person in China or whole of Asia. He is a product of the US. Am I the only one that doesn't mind Lin is slightly overpaid and am happy for him? Considering that he got screwed out of a scholarship and his race was a handicap that played a huge role in not getting drafted, I'm happy that he finally gets a break, good for him.
I wouldn't say 95%. A lot of Knicks fans are fans of Lin. Some hate him too but a lot still like him.
