You're describing GREATS. Eminem is a great musician. Tiger Woods is a great athlete. Jeremy Lin is a random below average NBA player that got a big contract because of his appeal to your community. If Tiger Woods sucked balls, nobody would root for him, blacks included. Same deal with Eminem and whites. Asians on the other hand will latch onto anything remotely like them. Well, you already see more or less of Lin's peak and you think he could be as good as Parker? I also think Lin could be as good as Parker in the future, but he needs to improve a lot to be like Parker. Making Linsanity a common occurrence, then he is not Lin, he is LeBron.
