Irrelevant. Higher usage rate indicates that he handles the ball more, in this case the ball goes through him almost twice as much as Rubio, yet he ended up having a lower turnover ratio. To answer your question though, nope, not in dantoni"s system as a PG.
Westbrook is brainless, did you see the game against GSW he was the only one didn't celebrate because he didn't get the last shot? I don't think thunder would win a championship with westbrick, he's just a rich man's Steve Francis.
I don't think I've ever seen an arena crowd explode like that when an OPPOSING player hits the game winning FG. Usually the place just goes dead silent. Granted, the Raptors are god-awful.. but still.. craziness.
No I did not, though it wouldn't surprise me. I saw all I needed to see of him last year in the series against the Mavs, when he was sulking on the bench while James Harden was playing like a true PG and leading the Thunder back into games, only to have Westbrook shoot them back out of it again. And yep, I've always called him SF3 2.0. Relies entirely on his athleticism/flashiness, low bball IQ and little real PG skills to speak of.
A great photo... Jeremy Lin (c.) celebrates his game-winning 3-pointer with Tyson Chandler and Landry Fields (r.) Tuesday. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...y-lin-answer-knicks-prayers-article-1.1022859
LOL Steven Colbert baby! http://offthedribble.blogs.nytimes....-lin-products-are-a-slam-dunkling/?ref=sports
Steve Nash @SteveNash Its crazy! I'm watching Linsanity hoping every shot goes in. Hope I never grow up.
Did anyone hear Fields at the end of that game winning shot to Lin, "Are you kidding me, Are you kidding me?"
It's hard for me to consider a pg to have had a good game with an assist to turnover ratio below 1.5 unless some other part of his game was spectacular which wasn't the case for Lin tonight. He only had 2 rebounds, 1 steal, and had a bad night at the free throw line. To me that is a subpar performance from a pg whether it is cp3, dwill, lin, felton, lowry etc. The pg should be taking care of the ball and if he isn't he needs to make up for it some other way. Great game for a rookie or first year starting pg but not a great game for a pg. What Lin is doing is amazing but people also need to get some perspective about what category of player he is. If people want to marvel at the stat line he had tonight then they need to keep him among the 2nd-3rd tier pgs where he belongs. For a guy outside of the top 15-20 pgs in the league that stat line is amazing.
Nice find. I don't get the Lin hate here, while Rubio gets universal love. Looking at the last 5 games for Rubio, he's putting up 8.6 pts, 4.4 reb, 7.8 ast, 3.8 TOs, while shooting 31% from the field. If Lin's last two games were "subpar" PG games, then Rubio has been playing NBDL basketball.
Lin finished with 27 points and a career-high 11 assists, giving him 137 points in his first five career starts. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, that’s the most for any player who began his career since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976-77, passing Shaquille O’Neal (129). That's crazy, he's setting all kinds of records so even if he's just going nuts for a week or two, don't try to downplay to 'teams haven't figured him out yet' etc. This is a great accomplishment already!!
You do realize there is more to basketball than shooting right? Rubio has taken much better care of the ball and plays elite level defense. The number one thing a pg should be doing is taking care of the basketball and Rubio does that much better than Lin. He also plays much better D and held Lin to his worst shooting night of the streak. Rubio choked bad Saturday but he outplayed Lin.
