the numbers don't lie lin is very quick. but on the court unless he can fly and dunk like rose, westbrook and wall, people naturally think he's not as athletic. he just lack that kind of explosiveness that others have. and btw it's a fact Asians aren't as fast as Africans on the track.
Liu Xiang begs to differ -- reigning Gold Medalist in 110 hurdles -- remember how fast Renaldo Nehemiah was and how excited the 49ers were to make him a WR. Liu is the only sports star in China who challenges Yao Ming's popularity -- pre-Lin. The dude on the right is even trying to hand check Liu to slow him down. And Africans? I think you are talking about distance runners. Since when has an African been a factor in the 100m or 200m dash? You mean Americans and Caribbeans. And btw, Lin is an American.
Liu Xiang had deceptive speed on the track. Look at the expression of his competitors. They look angered by his deception.
it's a fact that this Asian American is faster than 3 of those African Americans on the track as measured by science using electronic timers and controlled by a computer people think he's not athletic because he has slitty eyes and sallow complexion aka Asian Lin has explosive speed as measured in data posted from two combines. He's a decent one foot jumper, his 2 feet jumping is under par compared to Wall and all those guys. Just look at the data, it's clear that Lin is explosive, where he is a bit weaker than those other guys is top speed
Lowry's smart deceptiveness is off the charts. But, in my experience, Russian blondes have the highest smart deceptiveness score in the world. Asian women, not so much.
Not all Africans can run fast or jump high. Africa has the most genetic diversity in the world and dozens of ethnic groups. For example both the tallest humans on earth (Sudanese tribes averaging 6'4") and the shortest (pygmies) live in Africa. West Africans, who were largely enslaved by other Africans to sell to white slavers happen to have the most quick twitch muscles for sprinting and jumping. East Africans do not have those quick twitch muscles but long limbs and endurance muscles and are good long distance runners. You go North and the berbers are a race of Shane Battiers... half white people. Not all Africans can jump... it's just we're just so ****ing racist that we lumped all these different people together as "black" during Colonial times. Also many "African Americans" are in fact "African-Caucasian-Indian Americans" since many American blacks have a little bit of added gene mixture from other races that has further increased genetic diversity and made certain individuals outstanding athletes.
They are not credible. I also question their numbers, when it proves an athlete's average speed is greater than his top speed. I don't care if the athlete is genetic hybrid of Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon. It's not possible. The numbers lie. Those are questionable numbers.
Let's put this in Asian student terms. If you (let's say you are Asian) are a professor's aid/grader for Physics 101 (which is plausible because Asians are smart), and some African American in your class submitted a Physics research paper that has a chart showing Usain Bolt's AVE velocity is greater that his peak velocity, would you not question the rest of his data in the paper?
Heypartner is the only one that makes sense right now. Questionable numbers from a website that sprung up out of nowhere and it's claiming to be measuring athletic numbers. These numbers would not make any athletic journals or official statistics. A car in a race is being measured with sensors. Somebody publishes a top speed of 100 mph and an average speed of 110 mph. Would you consider those numbers credible? It's called top speed, because no speed higher than 100 mph was measured. SMH
I wouldn't say Lin's 2 legged jump is bad now, he improved it by 3.5 inches in the offseason. And just pipped Marion on a jump ball when they last played. Not bad considering Marion is quite a bit taller and longer than him
Then prove they are not. Just because they made a mistake on the chart doesnt mean anything, you get the ave speed by adding starting speed and top speed then divide by 2, big deal. The numbers don't lie, but people make mistakes.
I don't understand. Are you guys questioning the website or the BAM testing in general? They use it at the NBA Combine. Is that not enough for you guys? You'd take ESPNs video analysis over someone actually testing for it. With the ESPN video all they're doing is making some guesses based on how fast the video of Lin is going across a TV screen, hoping they measured the highly scientific 'three steps' correctly via their monitor.
Not when he provided with starting speed and top speed numbers, it's simply a man made mistake, it happens.
That's your speculation and doubt, I have the same doubt but until evidence been provided I'd take BAM's number as an indication of how fast is Lin with the ball. You said "I'm sure" , that where I have problem with.
