The number one selection in the 2011 NBA draft had 22 pts 7 assists and 3 rebounds.

Yes its amazing Lin is playing so well for someone that was so overlooked. But Irving is only 19 while Lin is 23.

Both have room to grow and are going to be great players.

yea except lin was putting up 25 and 9 without amare, melo, JR for most of linsanity. and if you actually watch any of the games, amare hasn't contributed anything so far.

I wonder how Lin will fare next year, when he (most likely) will not be in D'Antoni's system.

Have you watched him play. he dribbles the ball up. Looks for the open man, runs PnR for Chandler or Amare, looks for Melo, pulls up and shoots or drives the lane and shoots if open or passes to the open guy. It's pretty standard stuff that gets him assists and points. If all that is not available he runs a play.

He has a better midrange game than Lowry, shoots the midrange shot better and passes better. he could easily do the same thing here or pretty much anywhere. Jeremy Lin is legit although he is being overhyped right now. It's like the say you're never as bad as you feel when you are on the bottom or as good as when you are top. Lin is a very solid player much better than Johnny Flynn but no Steve nash.

And we kept the less athletic one with an attitude because they improved in their first year as a starter.

    UGH.....

I will never forgive Morey and McHale for having Lin in camp and under their control and letting him go for nothing, there are no excuses to not recognize talent when you have it, and to let it go.....none.

And I don't give two ****s for what other GM's did or didn't do.....all I care about is whether the Rox were successful or failed....and uh...they failed here big time.

Get over it DD. If you really like Lin so much you should be happy he has a chance to play in NY. He wouldn't get a chance to play here as a 3rd string PG. He fits Pringles system very well just like AB fit Adelman's for a while. Just be happy for the guy.

Bull****, talent would eventually show, and he would be doing exactly this in Houston, either this year, or next, or the one after.

IF, we had a braintrust that could recognize NBA talent.

And I am happy for him, but it is killing me to watch our ****TY offense and watching Lin single handidly piss on our Knicks pick too.

And I don't give excuses so easily, Morey and McHale ****ed up, they can laugh about it all they want, but you don't let TALENT walk out the door to sign Jeff Adrien....

I mean honestly, and we still have that Amnesty avialalbe too, so they didn't need any cap room.....

Simply atrocious talent evaluators, no excuses offered.....this is a cut and dried business....

If Lin becomes an All star, Morey should be fired.

How can the truth be a shot? Lowry peaked last year and is down in several categories this year.

He is playing more, has more control and has a ton more turnovers, more than 1 more a game while only raising his assist totals by 1 as well, even though he has the ball in his hands every single possession he is on the floor.

His shooting has been spotty at best, and his D has been borderline awful, the next guy that he keeps in front of him may be the first.

I am NOT enamored with Kyle....

Lin may turn out to be better than him, and not by a little bit either.

 you totally miss the point... Just saying Irving doesn't have as much experience as Lin. Lin played 4 years of Division 1 ball in college while Irving barely played his 1 year at Duke.

Also to the above poster that posted Lin's scores.. thats pretty damn impressive and how he was overlooked

Bull**** because no player on a one year contract sitting on a bench would STAY on the team. He'd go somewhere else to play.

You've praised Morey for Brooks and Landry but now all of a sudden he can't find talent? Maybe if Lin was a PF in camp he'd still be here but if you're going to tell me that Lin was better than Lowry and Dragic in a joke of a training camp then I'll tell you full of it.

Our "****ty offense is not the greatest but do we have the talent NY has? No. Do we have Athletic players like Fields, STAT and Chandler who thrive in the P&R? NO! You put Stat or Fields or Shumpert here and Lowry would be throwing Alley's all night.

Again, Patterson was hurt so we had no backup PF since Hill played backup Center. We had 3 PG's besides Lin. Is it not logical to sign for depth instead of carrying a luxury at PG?

He would have been restricted, and the Rox would have the ability to match any and all offers, like NY will be doing.

None of that is relevent to the discussion about letting a talented NBA starting level player walk for nothing......

That is just stupid, you keep talent, you let bad players go, amnesty Thabeet or Flynn...but what makes it worse and what you and others keep ignoring is that we signed Jeff Adrien and let Lin walk.

    Stupid, stupid, stupid.

The move was stupid, no defense, and all the Morey nut huggers can talk until they are blue in the face, and still be wrong.

His D borderline awful? Lowry peaked last year? Lowry HAS ATTITUDE PROBLEMS?

You have no facts to back these up, absolutely nothing. All other facts point to the contrary. I'm not even bothered to refute it because they're ridiculous claims.

If Lowry was anything like T-Mac, Francis, BROOKS, BUDINGER, then I would understand your irrational dislike because they all possess selfish and passionless attitude.

Except he isn't, he's hardworking, he hustles, he's everything that's good about any NBA player. Yet you hate him because he took your favorite player's starting spot.

You just want to be proven right first, the Rocket's success comes second.

It looks like turnovers is the only category that's gotten worse.

His 3pt shooting % is up. His ft% is up significantly. His rebounds are up. His steals are up. What else is he down in?
