I doubt he will ever approach those numbers for the rockets in this offense. Its pretty clear that he has been a player that needs to have control of the ball to excel ( nba, college ). When he does he is a pretty effective NBA point guard and I could actually see him with that kind of average. He is not being used in the fashion this year, and the style he is being asked to play requires a completely different skill set. Harden plays more pg than he does, something that, while he might be effective at, is not his strength. Just look at his numbers. 5.4 assists and 4.1 turnovers a game ( interstingly enough, I do not hear any criticism toward him about this ). His shooting is down from 49% to 41%. Clearly, the way he is being used is not effective. Giving him the ball and watching/ setting a pick outside the 3 point line is a joke. He has to work harder for every shot he gets and is way too easy to defend this way ( tmac anyone ). This results in more difficult shots or him driving into a lane packed with defenders. Lin should run the point the majority of the time. Harden should end up with the ball more often than not, but handing the ball off too him once he crosses half court is a ****ing joke and his numbers, and the teams struggles, back that up.
I believe in insanity. It was real. I knew he was going to struggle once he went bro science on his training in the summer. Ask rv6. Imma lose ten pounds so I can be quicker
seriously, this really puzzles me. Anybody could tell me why Harden is not used as PG when he is in OKC?
http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page/dime-121207-08/nba-scouts-saying Western Conference scout on Jeremy Lin so far this season: [rquoter] "He's kind of settling into what he really is. On an average team, he can be a starter. On a good team, he's going to have to be a backup. "He's still not a great shooter and I don't know if that will ever change. He'll absolutely work at it, but he's got a flawed jump shot that's ingrained in him. And he's still a right-hand dominant player who has a tough time going left and finishing to his left and makes questionable decisions going left. "My other concern would be (James) Harden. There's no question Harden takes the (burden of the) spotlight off Jeremy, but that means Jeremy has to play off the ball when they're out there together. That's not his strength." [/rquoter]
I don't get why harden HAS to have the ball. Yes, sometimes he should, and yes he's a pretty good playmaker, but he is much easier to defend when he is holding the ball. Should work on getting him easier looks instead of watching him dribble. I know he can average 20+ a night, but right now he's doing it on 40% shooting and that probably has to do with how he is being used ( and a couple of games where he just couldn't get going ). Regardless, Lin really needs to work on his shot.
Harden did more cutting to the basket and spot up shooting in OKC. He's better off the ball than Jeremy. It's unclear to me why he isn't doing more of this in Houston. His percentages are suffering for it. But I'm sure the coaches realize this if we do.
Jeremy is unstoppable. The only one who can stop him is himself. Unfortunately, he's doing just that.
I just bought some new shampoo. Don't know what to expect, what kind of shampoo do you use and do you wash your eyebrows? Discuss.
Jeremy doesn't play with confidence. He hasn't found his shot yet nor has he learned to adjust when his shot is not falling or when he doesn't have the ball in his hands. He should look at the way Delfino plays with Harden--how active Delfino is in cutting and creating for others.
I don't want to hear from Lin again until he locks himself in a gym and gets a real jump shot. This is getting ridiculous.
