Whats been up with Jeremy Lin Lately? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pGueVmV4CvM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rR3NhE8fBs8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> OK I'm Not here to start any trouble or anything. But to me Lin is not who he was with the knicks. His 3 point percentage was .320% in 2011 all of sudden present he has 3 point percentage .256%. People cant say he is trying to be a pass first type of guy because he isn't still averaging 6 assists per game as last year. He has been getting steals a lot lately which I give ups to. Hes not attempting much as he did last year with the knicks. He not getting to the free throw Lin much as he did with knicks. Maybe Linsanity did die out??!? Averaged Point Guard with over paid contract. I mean like what can you say? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bd6O-Y_kNt4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Okkkk???? I'm not doing for stars. I'm just letting my opinion out if you don't like it than do this log off clutch fans than turn your computer off and go to bed.
Great thread. Would read again. Good thing you brought this up since it hasn't been noted or discussed at all anywhere.
Please close this thread and continue our Lin discussion (what else is there to discuss anyway) on the 30 other Lin threads. Yours truly, Alex
Finally a thread worthy of discussion. Thank you, roadmatter! I didn't think anyone else had noticed Jeremy's struggles.
Psst... here's a statistical tip. Making 1/3 shots means you MISS 2/3 shots. Making 2/3 shots STILL means you Miss 1/3 shots. And even if you Make 75% of a shot, 1/16 games you'll MISS that shot 2x in a row. Think a coin flip. Even if your chances are 50/50, 1/16 times, you'll still see 4 heads in a row, and 4 tails in a row one time on average. Here's another couple tidbits... Kobe Bryant 2011/12 - 36.1% in clutch situations http://www.82games.com/1011/10LAL5.HTM 2012/13 - 40.2% in clutch situations http://www.82games.com/1112/11LAL6.HTM Seriously, you're attaching WAY too much weight to a single miss. ESPECIALLY since Lin's "clutch shooting" this season is actually VERY high given the number of shots he has taken. Clutch Statistics - per 82games http://www.82games.com/1213/12HOU2.HTM (4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left, neither team ahead by more than 5 points) Jeremy Lin - Per 48 mins 6 FG, 12 FGA, FG% - .500, eFG% - .500, ast'd - 25% A small sample size? Sure. However it's A LOT larger than taking ONE airball against Miami and pointing to that as the end-all, be-all.
In order of importance 1. Whats up with Harden's shot 2. Why can't Patterson rebound 3. Whats up with Parsons Defense 4. Why doesn't Asik Finish strong 5. Whats up with Lin's shot
Nice post. Also shows that appearance&style >> facts&substance for many people, perhaps even the majority.
The same could be said of Harden's 2 missed shots after Lin's air ball. Lin's air ball was uglier, but no different in terms of impact than anyone else missing.
Don't take offense but this thread was terrible. Try again some time. Originality is needed on this board. Welcome to clutch fans btw.
It's not just that one shot but also the events leading up to it. He was playing like a headless turkey during the Miami game. So that airball in crunchtime seemed like a culmination of everything.
