some people don't understand how a basketball team works. that there are starters, bench players, and bench warmers.

you will notice on here that some posters think a bench warmer here is better than a starter on other teams, which is false.

False. Harden averaged 12.4 points per game in the 2012 Finals. Jeremy Lin is averaging 0.0 points per game in the 2019 Finals.

Considering that neither Harden, Tinman, or Zboy is likely to explode, that statement doesn’t mean much.

So does Lin retire after this season? I'm surprised he isn't getting at least backup minutes for the Raps.

He's not getting backup minutes because he played terribly after signing with the Raptors. Nurse gave him a very reasonable opportunity to be a part of the post-season rotation, but Lin fell short...and with VanVleet playing fantastically after coming back from injury, Lin pretty much fell out of the rotation. I don't blame Nurse at all for not using him in the playoffs based on how things went in the last 2 months of the season.

Not sure what's going to happen for Lin next year. Between his age, his injury, all the time he missed, and the drop in his play since joining the Raptors, his value is at an all-time low. Combine that with his being a FA after this season, and I think he's in a really rough spot...potentially end of his career. I can see some team taking a chance by signing him to a 1-year vet-minimum contract as a 3rd string PG, or maybe a 2-year vet-minimum deal with a team-option after 1 year. And then the question becomes...would Lin even want to bother with a situation like that?

$65 million in lifetime earnings and a championship ring. How do I sign up for the same “really rough spot”?
