When is the world going to realize we don’t run and didn’t run last year what everyone always describes as “D’Antoni’s system”?

I guess technically it is his system because he is the coach, but these last 2 years are nothing like his other years in the past.

There's still familiarity with D'Antoni as a coach, his coaching style, his basketball principles, etc. Again, not saying that this is an excuse for Lin coming along slower than Shumpert, but using Shumpert as the comparison does have other factors.

 

Yup, Shumpert was considered to be the best on-ball defender with the Knicks during Linsanity. Great player.

 

Not a fan of JLin. Hope he can turn it up but I have my doubts.

 

Welp 33% FG tonight and -15 +/-. 10th bad game for Lin. His sucking also partly caused the Raps to get blown out by the Cavs which led to Ibaka getting heated and throwing punches to Chriss. Lin indirectly caused Ibaka a 10 game suspension at least. Wow.

I dont have any bias for Lin or the Raptors good or bad but so far he has majorly sucked for the Raptors.

 

I’d say 6th bad shooting game for Lin as he’s had two pretty good shooting games (.500 and .667) and two average shooting games (.429). Last night’s performance was not completely unexpected because Lin has historically struggled on the 2nd game of a back to back...looks like most of the Raptors has that challenge too.

How did Lin indirectly cause Ibaka’s suspension? Lmao! You are stretching here.

I agree Lin’s shot has been bad for the Raptors overall. His defense has been better than many expected, tho. Hopefully his shot comes back to normal soon.

He will be cut before playoff or rotten on bench once Vanvleet comes back, if he doesn't get his act together soon enough.

When Jerry plays bad, he is really bad: can't shoot, makes poor decision and turns the ball over, or just stands at the corner doing absolutely nothing. He is never a good shooter and mentally he is not tough enough.

He can still play, as a backup in a bad team. But his good NBA days are probably numbered. It is all down hill from here.

 

But LOFs don't care about the Raptors.

I think Raptors fans might not like the 36% FG and 14% 3PT .

Gotta admit that Lin is falling short in his time with the Raptors. With VanVleet back before he's been able to establish himself, it looks like he will likely not get a lot of minutes as they head into the playoffs.

That said, this is not "usual" for him at all. His meaningful stats with the Raptors are far below his career averages, so this is not "usual" for him by any means. Not sure what will happen...but he needs to pick it up before the playoffs start to get any kind of meaningful minutes in the playoffs.

This was the last nail in his nba careers coffin. The Raptors gave him an opportunity to run the ship and he in turn ran it aboard and right into the coast.

He is what he is just an average marginal player
