Dude said to a large audience complete with translators that he hit rock bottom

    This is not an accident
It’s planned for his own sympathy and drama

It’s designed so it makes media stories about him

Also Lin has made a ridiculous amount of money from endorsements alone. He should shut up and be happy.

Well first of all he doesn't belong in the GARM. Secondly Lin crying fake tears about the NBA makes me sick. I'm Asian too and tbh I can't stand a dude who made 50M whining like a baby about how the league has given up on him, that's about as un-Asian as it gets eeew. The "League" isn't a living person, it can't give up on anyone if nobody wants you then you aren't good enough, simple as that. If he played like a boss in the playoffs then ok he has a right to whine and cry but he was given every opportunity on a stacked Raptors squad couldn't do anything every time he saw the floor. Averaged 1 pt on 22% FG I mean does he expect NBA teams to come knocking at his door after that performance?

Lots of guys can't get decent offers I mean if anybody has a right to whine and cry it's freaking Kenneth Faried, unlike Lin's 0-fer ass that dude averaged a near double double every game with a little 3 pt range but somehow can't get any team interest.

Instead of giving pity media conferences Lin should show both his American and Asian heritages and pick himself up by the bootstraps. He should spend some of that money on doctors and Sports Science and figure out where his quickness went. After that he should spend a couple mill working on his jumpshot with a shot doctor and then go to the hyperbaric chambers Lebron goes to and get extremely ripped and jacked and then ask for team tryouts. He can do all these in the span of 1 offseason and get a deal from an NBA team instead of whining like a baby in front of the media.

Everybody here talking about how he made 50M in the NBA so he shouldn't cry. This is exactly what he meant when he said he doesnt care about money. He's a harvard grad he could've maybe made as much money with a regular job.

He wants to prove himself again after the injuries and he's not getting any offers. That's why he crying. Him making 50M has nothing to do with it lmao do you see him in flashy cars or fancy houses? He obviously just wants to play

Just because he wants to play does not make it better.

If just wants to play he can go to China, Europe Israel or Russia like Scola did.

    boo freaking hoo.

Never really got aboard the Lin or LOF's hate train.

But the LOF's have got to be really disappointed in their boy right about now.

I dun like this Azn stereotype of shut up and listen/working hardest.

He can do whatever he wants, it would be better off camera of course. That Asian thing is funny, any race should do what they think is best and legal.

Yeah there is something in saying it that way and crying like that. Like its personal. If you could play they would hire you. Its a business.

The Guardian - Jeremy Lin breaks down over NBA free agency: 'It keeps getting more rock bottom' – video

    (Youtube direct link)

The link has a much better summary of the original posted video. It is indeed a large Christian faith event in Taiwan. The crowd looks like young Taiwanese college students that look up to Lin. He's telling them his fears so that in spite of the fact that they think he's awesome, he wants them to know he has problems just like everyone else. This is out of context here in the US because no one thinks he's awesome here! You have to see the whole video (or at least a decent summary - this one is only a minute) before you can call him a drama queen. His hope is to motivate others not to give up in the face of adversity. And to humble yourself and give it all up to God.

Appreciate the context, but that doesn’t really change the way Lin is coming off here.

At the end of the day, if Lin can’t get a contract (even though he has a huge fan base) it’s not because the NBA gave up on him. It’s because he gave up on himself, as others have pointed out.

The league is competitive & has TONS of guys who didn't graduate from Harvard that dream of a nba spot. Lin's had his opportunities and needs to go overseas & reinvent himself or retire. There's no sympathy for anybody else, why should we feel sorry for Jeremy Lin? Especially being a low basketball IQ player

If he wants to play then he should do something about it instead of crying on tv. We have all faced disappointment in life but not all of us are willing to whine and cry on international tv.

If he is crying on tv despite making 50M that means he just lost perspective, it's entitlement to the Nth degree if not playing in the NBA after you **** your pants figuratively in the playoffs is enough to make you cry that means he has lost it, he has forgotten other people who have real problems those people should be the ones crying on tv not him. The mother whose son needs an expensive operation, the father who lost his entire family in a car crash, the small time business owner who lost his livelihood in a fire, yeah ok those people have the right to cry on tv, not a dude who made 50M. It's not like the NBA is bullying him, the dude shot 20% FG in the playoffs and averaged 1 pt a game, what do you expect?

Lin just keeps saying the right things but never does anything, the criticism on his jumper have been on since Linsanity, if he wanted a long NBA career he should have fixed that flaw years ago. It's literally just whine, whine, whine and passive aggressive behavior everywhere he goes that why he never sticks on a team. He keeps saying he wants to prove himself but what exactly has he done that showed he deserves a chance from other teams? Toronto took a shot at him and he played like trash, it's up to him to earn a spot in the NBA by improving his game and fixing his lost athleticism. He can play 1 year in china or in europe and show everyone he is still an NBA player. He is so self-centered its ridiculous, it's never how his play has sucked it's always how the NBA has given up on him LMAO

He can do whatever he wants, but the Asian stereotype of working for results instead of whining for them is very real. Just look at stats, Asians now have one of the highest income brackets in the US despite being FOBs and facing the same hardship as other immigrant communities. They are the living embodiment of the American dream, if you work hard you get results.

I'm not saying Lin doesn't have the right to whine and cry instead of working for an NBA spot, he has the right to do whatever he wants it's a free country. But if the early Asians acted like him whining and crying instead of doing what they did they would have gone nowhere and achieved nothing in the US just like Lin's career.
