Lin played with his back injury after all star weekend. IF Bev can really stop Lillard, it's fine to call him Wolverine. But he can't. He can't guard WestBrook or Reggie Jackson when he was healthy. 2 DEC at Utah, Trey Burke has 21+3+6, FG50% on him. And he can't guard Kirk Hinrich at CHI.
Well Wolverine wasn't indestructible, he just healed super quickly. That and he had a tenacity and I don't give a **** attitude. Bev also has balls of steels, but if he can only complete the process this offseason and get the rest of his bones fused with Adamantium so he doesn't break or fracture anything else and miss less games, that'd be great.
Bro I dislike Lin haters as much as anybody on this board. But no need to try and "equalise" the situation by hating on Bev too. I think we can safely say that Bev is a good man defender who gives his 100% all the time but sometimes good offense just beats great defense, no need to nitpick and find games in which the man he was defending shot well. Don't need to lower yourself to the level of b****iness that CometsWin is on.
Lin played well in last game in both ends, and he did make only one mistake, this is a good sign for the team.
Some people still bring up Lin's 85% comment from back in his Knicks day. Their commitment and investment in his failure are astounding.
I don't see why any Lin fan should dislike Beverley. It's not only pretty clear that Lin and Bev genuinely like each other, but they also make each other better. It's as though having Bev on the floor gives Lin the confidence to play as he wants to. And Bev is usually there to knock down 3s after Lin kicks it out. As a Lin fan, nothing made me happier than to hear that Bev would be back for Game 2.
All Good defenders can score and force the opponent to play D. Gary Payton scored 20pts per game in Seattle. Bruce Bowen is a 40% 3pt shooter.
Ok. Tell us where he played bad and tell us how it impacted the final outcome. I assume you want a good discussion, can you do this?
Dude, I'm one of his biggest fans, but even I have to admit no matter how unfair the "injury prone" label may seem, the truth is that he was not able to take part in the playoffs when he was with the knicks due to injury, and he was severely limited in his effectiveness in the playoffs last season, also due to injury. To kastuul, yes he played all 82 games in the regular season, but not being able to contribute positively at all in the playoffs last year as a result of injury is pretty significant. This isn't his fault or anything, and again maybe he shouldn't receive such flak for things out of his control, but I guarantee if any other NBA player missed 2 playoffs in a row or something like that due to injury, they would probably receive the same label. Right now, he is finally looking like he is (relatively) healthy and may actually be a significant positive factor, so instead of focusing on how he was labeled negatively before, why not just stay silent and let his play simply dictate how he will be perceived from here on out? I'm certain if he keeps playing well people will stop talking about him being injury prone or sucking when it counts
if this statement is true that the team is all howard and harden, then the team won't go far. parsons, lin, tjones, everyone has to make their shots too and contribute. can't be two players doing everything - especially if harden doesn't step up in D.
Why do you find it necessary to just make stuff up? Especially when you are talking with people who are basketball fanatics. Tony Allen? Ben Wallace? Rodman? Been many, many GREAT defenders who couldn't do a damn thing on offense.
Harden was mentality screwed up in game #1...that's how i look at it...and that's why he missed so many shots. His mind is being screwed by Mathews posting him up and him being frustrated of not getting calls. He keeps complaining to the refs. He needs to stay focus because he's hurting the team.
I saw that someone else addressed this nonsense, but still. Wow. You're letting your hate consume you my friend.
Why does every Lin board have idiots bringing Harden or Bev into their arguments? There is no need to bash Harden or Bev or anyone else to make Lin look good. Everyone has their own flaws and the bashing (not constructive criticism) of others to make Lin better is delusional and childish.
