yeah he certainly needs to turn up the tenacity a bit on defense and learn how to defend better off the pick and roll.. but to be fair to Lin everyone got burned by lillard after Bev went to the bench. The Parson's experiment guarding PG didnt work out too well either. Maybe Mchale needs to have a bit more faith in Lin's D and let him guard lillard but hopefully Bev is not out for any extended period of time. On a side note Hack a Dwight actually worked this time. It completely ruined out offense and flow and of course Harden having one of his worst shooting games of the season didnt help. It's promising we only lost by 2 in OT. On to game 2!
As aggressive and as hard as Beverley play defense, he did make some critical errors that hurt the team and contribute to this loss. For example, down by 4pts i believe, Blazers' ball and they're about to inbound the ball and Patrick is guarding Lilliard. You know they're going to do that pick to free Damian up. The way I look at it...Patrick should have fronted Lilliard to prevent any pick and pop....he wasn't doing that...he was guarding and staying behind Lilliard. As a result, Lilliard was able to free and got a wide open 3pts....that was crucial. Another time, he let Lilliard drove to the basket but did recover and blocked the shot. However, right after that, he AGAIN let Lilliard drove to the basket and score and foul!! That was another blow to our lead.
Well to be fair, the play where he blocked lillard, but then on the next play gave him an and-1 came after he sprained his knee again...so for someone that's playing through pain, gotta give him credit..
Too much up here.... it's beyod.. http://sports.yahoo.com/video/jeremy-lin-air-ball-goes-062217538.html
CometsWin is a full blown Lin hater. Additionally, he has stated numerous times in non-basketball related threads, that he is a staunch proponent of the idea that Asians do not experience material racism in this country, and that African Americans are systematically singled out to fail. He is an extremely narrow-minded fella who is insensitive to those with experiences different to his own. But this isn't about debating whether Asians or any races for that matter, experience racism. This is about a particular poster whose obsessive hate towards a particular player (exhibited again in this thread) is troubling to see and must be pointed out. That behavior shouldn't be accepted and should be brought to attention. So I am not surprised he is one of the biggest Lin haters on the board. His persistence on bashing on Lin is borderline racism.
I think at this point, nobody should want any player in the Rox to fail because every bit helps and every player is on the same boat, esp. when we are in the playoffs now.
I'm STILL waiting snoop dog. Instead of following me around like a puppy dog and accusing me of being a racist without any poof whatsoever why don't you provide the evidence I've asked for. Provide it or stop bringing it up. Provide evidence of my racist posts. I'm waiting. Put up or shut up.
I'm not going to call you a racist towards Asians but at the very least it's quite clear that you are not objective about critiquing Lin. I don't know why but maybe you are over compensating for the LOFs on this board.
You are not racist cause you are a true rockets fan. the rockets have the only Asian superstar in their history, Yao Ming . Plus Houston is full of different cultures, only idiots don't know that.
@CometsWin I don't know if you are a racist or not and I certainly hope you aren't. I do know you are a Lin-hater and would rather to see Lin do stupid turnovers than help the team to win. Now, do you have what it takes to ask me to provide you with proof that you are a Lin hater?
Not really my fight, but... http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebat...statistics-indicate-an-ivy-league-asian-quota http://blog.priceonomics.com/post/48794283011/do-elite-colleges-discriminate-against-asians Is that definitive proof of bias in the system? No. Is it really suspicious? Probably...
Perhaps a bit, I'm a fan so objectivity is inherently a problem. I've given him credit for playing well and criticized him for playing poorly. I have far less issue with him than his fans. He's not an all-star and he's not some star in waiting. He's a solid player who has flashes of great play and then looks horrible a minute later. I feel that's extremely fair. I'm just going to exercise the ignore more often, that should help. haha
I don't know if you can call him a true rockets fan when he seems to joyful whenever Lin under performs. Criticism is very different than flat out hate. I agree Yao is the only Asian superstar in rockets history and will most likely remain like this for a long long, long time.
These kind of discussions really aren't suited to a basketball forum, but if you promise to stop posting your over-the-top LOH BS, then here you go, the evidence you asked for: Asians need SAT scores 140 points higher than whites to have the same chance of getting into an elite college (based on work by a pro-AA Princeton sociologist, as published in the Chronicle of Higher Education). http://chronicle.com/article/Asian-Americans-the-New-Jews/131729/ (And just for the record, I'm white and pro AA.)
I believe the same article was posted previously and this was already discussed. Asian enrollment at Harvard is 17% while Asians make up 5% of the population. Having three times the enrollment per demography at the finest university in the world is not an impetus for a government program like affirmative action.
I maybe the only one who realized he was with caspi. That was table overrated ! Lol. Off course I didn't say that. Only good karma for the rockets. A Jew and an asian eat at a restaurant joke. Omni: why did you throw that turnover? Jeremy:i call it a pass over ! Omni:you so funny Jeremy ! Both:hahahahaha
