10 assists and only 2 turnovers. Those two weren't a result of driving into two defenders and then forcing the worst bounce pass in playoff history to Parsons OR getting bullied and turning the ball over because your handle is weak to kill all the momentum the team had left. Is Lin harshly criticized? Definitely but only as a result of these ridiculous comparisons. Expectations would be lowered if his fans stopped comparing him to multiple time all stars. No doubt he'll play better in Game 2 though because...surely it couldn't get any worse than that.
Worst was his government, forcing him to play when he should have been resting. Superficial people can't see beyond appearance.

Everybody played horrible except PB. Lin played his worst game so far. I'm an optimist. I think from now on, there's no way but up.
That's almost a fair statement since D-Will is the highest paid player on that team, supposed to be the go-to guy and has a lot of playoffs experience, can't say the same about Lin, unfortunately the public expectations hasn't been tempered properly as McHale suggests.
The "public expectation" was never that he was going to average 28 and 11. You're taking Mchale's comments literally and using them to pursue your agenda that every single criticsm against Lin is the result of hatred, racism, or some other ridiculous factor. It isn't. The fact is that Lin had 4 points, 4 assists, and 4 turnovers in 32 minutes in one of the most crucial games of the season. Fans of the Rockets and Lin alike have a right to be critical.

First of all, NO ONE thinks he's underpaid. Second of all, why does Lin doesn't need to be focusing on his public perception at all? Fix the holes in your game and everyone will love you.

He is pissing me off with his comments. If he doesn't improve next year then he will definitely be viewed as a bad contract in the league. The shine from Linsanity is already wearing off him and he's desperately trying to salvage some of that back. He needs to realize there are too many good PGs in the league and he needs to let his play do the talking.
now i know conley is wayy better than lin conley was slightly better than lin in the regular season, but now he shows he can play at a competitive level even in the playoffs he showed "class" which jeremy lin doesnt have, hope he becomes like him someday

You guys need to take it easy. It was Lin's first playoff game. I bet he will play much better with the series goes on.
Jeremy Lin did not cause the Rockets to lose this game. The Rockets as a whole team played horribly. Harden had the best performance on the team with 20 points, 6 Rebounds and 2 assists, but he went 6 for 19 to get his 20 points. Jeremy could have put in a Michael Jordan like performance, and the team would have still lost. That is how bad the team played. That said, Jeremy is going to have to play better than he did if the Rockets are going to win this series. Linsanity raised the expectations for everyone that is a Rockets fan. I don't think he is overpaid, or under-performing. Jeremy does need to get better and based on his work ethic, I expect him to get better. If he doesn't get better, this Rockets team is going to be a mediocre playoff team for the next several years. The first question is, how much better can he get, and will get? The other question I have is, is he still not 100% recovered from the the injury he had last year? Daryl said something to that fact a couple of months ago. and if he is not 100%, can he return to his old form and how long will it take?
I just find it tough to read Lin's actual talent because of his inconsistencies. One game he looks like a legit starting point guard or even an all-star. But in other games he looks like a college or D-Leaguer. Such discrepancy makes it tough to know what his ceiling is or even how good he is presently as a player.
