Let's see the article. I have a hard time believing VSpan ever went even 1/1 in a game.

Lin also set the record for the best first 5 games as a starter in NBA history....

    ?

Why would anyone post this nonsense. He played like everyone else on the rockets the first game and got hurt in the second which by the way he was on his way to a 15 and 8 game....

The real record was "the most 6th worst PER in the history of the playoffs a player has ever achieved in 2013." I am certain that no other player has ever broken or will break that record. It will belong to Lin forever.

It's not ALWAYS the same thing, EVERY single time. That's an exaggeration. What the hell do you expect when there are so many negative Lin threads? The natural reaction is to defend the kid. I've never seen a role player get so much hate, it's ridiculous.

I call BS on this. Nobody but the craziest people expected him to put up 25-10 or whatever he averaged during the height of Linsanity.

Bottom line, he played well enough, well enough to prompt many people to wonder if the Rockets could have the best backcourt in the near future.

If this were the 6th most idiotic thread created in CF, definitely could be higher, what were the top 5?

We need an Official Players Bashing thread where all the crazy self-titled records can find their places. Maybe one thread for each player.

Ex: Harden sets record for most strip clubs visited in a single season.
Parsons sets record for most hair-gel used in the playoff.
    etc...

    You Hate Lin

This is the weakest Lin argument, you clearly don't like Lin and are reaching for whatever whack stats you can find to justify this dumb thread. He barely played and was hurt. A Healthy Beverly got torched by a 1 legged Westbrook for 29 pts in the game where Russel got hurt. Aaron Brooks is no different than when he left the first time, still can't stop a nose bleed. Very few guys light it up their first season and their first playoff series at that. This is the youngest team in the league and oh yea NONE OF THEM WERE TEAMMATES LAST SEASON!

    The Heat

The Heat showed and proved that just b/c you throw guys together even if theyre 3 of the top 15 in the league doesn't mean you win immediately, they still lost to a team that had more chemistry and was together longer. The teams in the playoffs now Memphis, SA, Miami, all have been together longer than 1 season, ppl need to stop acting like NY/Philly fans who are permanently depressed and hate their teams unless they win titles.

There really aren't that many strong arguments against Lin left, not after he played a decent 82-game season. Yes, he's inconsistent (as are most young players) and could improve in many areas, but he played a lot better as the season went on, which bodes well for his future.

That's why his determined critics have to resort to tactics such as trying to dissect a 1.5-game sample, or a 3 game sample in which he played injured and in limited minutes. Some are going back to the "eye test" because stats aren't on their side anymore. More than a few have used logical fallacies (trying to say that Lin sucks because he was undrafted, and he was undrafted because he sucks) to justify their bias, while others seem to be implying that Lin is just some kind of pro-marketing affirmative action player.

It's quite sad and hilarious, really.

Didn't he get paid 25 million for that?

He averaged 21 minutes per game. That's not a small amount. He put up the worst playoff performance that any active NBA player who averaged his minutes has ever put up.

You think it's a coincidence that every game he played we lost, and vice versa?

You think it's a coincidence that his per was one of the worst of all time?

You think it's a coincidence that his +- was horrifyingly bad?

You think it's a coincidence we made a comeback every time Beverley came in for him?

We should be watching the Rockets on TNT right now.

If McHale and Harden hate threads are fair game, then why is it such a tragedy to point out how much Lin seriously cost us in the playoffs? Am I killing a unicorn when I say something against Lin?

    Yeaaah, that's what I thought.

You do realize that he was playing with a pretty debilitating injury for most of those minutes, right?

The Thunder, even without Westbrook, are still more talented and vastly more experienced than the Rockets. They completely destroyed us in the regular season, except in our last meeting.
