    Why the hate?

Take a step back and try to remove Jeremy Lin from the linsanity that the media created. He had a great stretch and hit a few clutch shots but was overhyped. He is a young and improving player that obviously plays for the love of the game. He owns up to his mistakes and is constantly working to improve what he can bring to the table.

Does he have deficits? Of course! He is not meant to be a superstar or maybe not even an all-star. But he can definitely be the level headed, mature and good decision making PG on a winning NBA team. He can be an integral part of a strong young core that can step up when necessary to keep the offense alive while not taking away from your superstar SG, C (possibly) and star-in-the-making SF

Once Rox fans accept that, you can look at him objectively and cut the dude some slack. If he was any other young rockets player that we saw pushing hard to improve his game, never mailing in a game and always owning up to his mistakes, we would all love him.

Sit back and enjoy the ride

I dont understand when your a player like Lin who has an obvious deficiency going left/dribbling left why you wouldn't work on that all summer. Like play pickup games where you only dribble with your left.

What don't you understand "Lin leads in Steal"? How come someone leads in steal be bad in defense?

Good thing we got rid of him. I remember everyone was pissed because we traded him the game after his 40 point performance in the summer league.

Because sometimes numbers dont tell the whole picture? Can mean he gambles too much on the defensive end and overplays passing lanes/takes more risks then he should etc, its like saying a center with a high BPG is a defensive stalwart but there are numerous extraneous factors to consider

Glad Jeremy is going to work. But as far as dominating a pro am league. This is all I can think of.

    1. he scored 63 points, of course that would take some time to watch
    2. would you have watched it if it was Jeremy Lin instead of Steve Francis?

Even though these games are against lesser talent, they can still get pretty intense and competitive as seen by this overtime thriller. I remember the summer before the Linsanity season, Lin was really killing it in various pro am circuits and charity pickup games in both Las Vegas and the Bay area which possibly translated to him being better prepared when he took the court during the season. However, last offseason he wasn't able to play in much of these games due to his knee injury. His shooting coach Doc Sheppler even commented that he needs to play more pickup games in the offseason in order to develop his shooters mentality in game situations. Both Lebron and Durant consistently play in pickup games throughout the summer which helps them sharpen their skills. If anything, these games will help him improve on some of his weaknesses and gain back his confidence.

Why people would feel the need to take anything bad away from the game is beyond me. It's almost as if people are so insecured that they need to do everything in their time and power to show faults in the game.
