Best of all, if Lin needs tips on being the 6th man, we have a former 6th of the year player to guide him through. I can't wait for this season to start! :)

Don't give Lin fans a bad name. You don't have superstars be 6th men. Williams and CP3 are superstars. Lin and Bev are very good point guards who are apples and oranges and very close in level of play but have different attributes. McHale and the front office have decided they want an orange, so to speak. On many other teams, Lin would be the starter. On this team, the Rockets believe they benefit more from Bev starting and Lin as the engine for the second unit. I wanted Lin to start too, but this is fine, and certainly a reasonable result whether or not you may agree with it. And I think Lin will flourish in the 6th man role too.

Rockets two "marquee" signings last offseason (before Harden) relegated to sixth-man duties. :p

Listen to who was asking the question, and the similar question asked of McHale.

    I guess Lin's aim will be a James Harden-type 6th man.

    Anyways...

It makes perfect sense to bring Lin off the bench. Playing with Harden, Lin becomes an observer. Let Lin be the lead man of the bench unit and watch Linsanity return. Lin will still get his minutes, and the team is more balanced and productive.

I honestly still would've liked to see this team without Harden and then get him at the trade deadline. More sample size for LOF or LOH to base off of.

I think we have two, including a two time winner.

hey that raptor playing in the tropical heat in miami had to sacrifice attempting 16 fgs to now 12. It's all about sacrifices. Adapt or the ice age will wipe you out.

Embrace the 6th man and don't look back. Help us win 3 championships and the legacy will be there. Manu made 11.1 million coming off the bench.

Lin is classy. For fans, you get what you get.

It's pretty clear the role plays well to Lin's strengths. And starting with a defensive oriented twin towers plays to Beverley's strengths. But Beverley's offense is just as underrated as Lin's defense is.

In any case, if you look at the total guard minutes available I'd be suprised if either Lin or Beverley were averaging less than 30 minutes a game
