"It was a blow to Jeremy, a big blow," the source said, "because he definitely wanted to start. But he rebounded pretty quickly and realized this would allow him some time away from Harden and more freedom with the ball." The man wants to play his game, and the 6th spot is a great place to play it.
He just played 90 minutes in two huge games. This being a b2b makes things difficult, but I guess we'll see.
The $$ argument would have made sense for teams like OKC, Clippers, Spurs etc. that are prudent in their spending. For the Knicks to make that argument...the same team that over years has thrown away bazillions in bad contracts and signings, its downright comical.
Certain NY writers still love Lin but it isn't universal. Stephen A Smith and Frank Isola, for example, could likely write tomorrow about how he's at best a bench player (like they've said all along) if he doesn't play amazing tonight.
And it would be the typical butthurt feelings of a New York(ie). "How DARE he leave the Mecca." "He should pay US to play here." "Pssshhh. 30 points. Ha, Mike put up 55."
Its not like the knicks are doing so hot or getting out of the 1st round with marsh melo that mediocre guy is doing just fine the last couple of night or since the all star break last year BANG 3
Let's keep things in perspective here, he underperformed his $8M per year contract in the first here with Houston, even if we ignore the playoffs. To use 9 game sample size and say how is he improved is silly, especially since he is coming off his best shooting game of his career and and will probably never repeat it. He isn't the best shooter of all-time, so he won't shoot 51% from 3pt for the season.
Mediacore players don't average over 30 like lin is in the last 2 games and 18 points on the season with 6 assists off the freaking bench. That argument might have washed last season, but not anymore. Lin right now is knocking on the allstar door. Sadly he has Curry and Paul in the west.
We aint conduncting a fire sale here. The Knicks have nothing that we want. Foreget Melo and his ball hogging ways.
How is that offensive...? Forgive me if i'm not keen on that phrase, Although I like how they said sorry afterwards, it reminded me of that skit on SNL about Lin (referencing ESPN's "in the armor speech"), where they said something offensive and afterwards said "Oh we're sorry, didn't mean to offend" lol
