well, George has improved it quite a bit. but i doubt someone could go from an average ball handler to an Iverson
Hill is the better shooter, defender, rebounder and takes care of the ball better while only being two years older than Lin who is already 25 and isn't going to get much better than he already is. Hill is simply the superior player and Morey would trade Lin for him in a second.
George Hill would be a perfect compliment to James Harden, he hardly ever turns the ball over, and he would make it easier to hide Harden's deficiencies on the defensive end.
The best way for a team to overcome Harden's deficiencies on defence would be to improve Harden's defence so we wouldn't have to hide him. I don't think selecting a player to hide Harden's deficiency is the best way to go about it.
Hill is a better player now....but I think Lin has more potential...lets give him another full season.
Both players have $8m cap hits I'll put the 2012/13 per 36min stats here for your perusal. Jeremy Lin 14.9 pts (44.1% / 33.9%) 6.8 ast 1.8 stl 3.2 tov George Hill 14.8 pts (44.3% / 36.8%) 4.9 ast 1.1 stl 1.6 tov From these stats, Jeremy Lin is the better playmaker with about 2 assists more a game. George Hill is a slightly better 3pt shoot, about 3% higher, and much better at turnovers, only 1.8 compared with 3.2. Overall I would give George Hill the slight advantage if your team doesn't need a playmaking point guard (assists). We should not that Jeremy Lin's last 41 games of the 2012/13 season easily surpass Hill in all aspects particularly 3pt shooting (40%). So can I just support most people's opinions by saying Hill is slightly better now but Lin has potential to surpass Hill in the next couple of seasons.
