that's probably true. especially last year's Pacers (George/Granger on the wings, instead of Lance Stephenson)
Lin is a worse shooter and dribbler. Lin is better at pick and roll and getting to the rim, but with this team Hill would do the things McHale wants: don't turnover the ball and hit the open shots.
sorry...but george hill is NOT a pg. have any of you watched the playoffs? he's a terrible pointguard, can't pass..can't dribble. he is a better shooter and perhaps a better defender than jeremy..but for a PG i'd still take lin over hill..and that is not saying much for jeremy lin..thats how bad of a PG i think hill is.
I think Lance Stephenson handles more of the point duties than George Hill. He's there as a 3 and D person.
Not sure if srs... BUT GEORGE HILL is a baller. George Hill took Parker's job in the playoffs a couple of years ago which was needed for them, and was brought up last night. Fortunately the Spurs played the ball right, but Hill makes that Pacers team run well. He's a great guy in the locker room, and a great player, very smart. Lin will need some time to get there. I think Lin has a better first step, but Hill can make more plays especially on D.
Wow, I don't think Hill is that bad, and think that his defense is way underrated. Oh well though. We each see parts of the game differently. I really think Hill is a great player, and that Pacers team is similar to us, but they are in the East, and if they were in the West we might not be even comparing this.
Ya know looking at their stats they are similar, but Lin has had a decent and great last couple years. His winshare though is not good. Hill's isn't that great either, but it's a positive number. Hill only averages 1.2 TO's and people say Hill doesn't have the ball much. Well everyone was complaining that Harden controlled the "point" too much, and Lin still averages 3.5 TOs over his career, past two years big time. So he will learn, and over come that. When Lin starts playing D more efficiently I'll pick him, but until then I think Defense is important, and while Hill doesn't get the same gambles, and steals that Lin gets I still think he affects the Pacers Defense more than Lin does. I don't know though...Lin has only played really 2 years. I'll change my answer to too early to tell. (not in the poll )
most of the guys who selected hill voted because of lin's choke at playoffs and annoying level of LOF's. But guys, lin plays as a starter for a year, and that decrease is natural due to exaustion. Hill and his lads also playing together longer than lin and rockets. so this time i go with the lin (even though i'm neutral towards him).
You kinda know what you will get from Hill at this point, while Lin is still an unfinished product. The word is really overused, but I'm banking on that "potential" of Lin. Of course, in the Rocket's system Hill is probably the better fit next to Harden.
Hill is the better overall player and a great fit for this team. Still, if we somehow manage to sign someone like Dwight, Lin's pick and roll abilities will become very valuable to us. LOFs think Lin was misused in our system, LOHs think Lin just flat out sucks. The truth is somewhere inbetween.
You're right. I screwed that one up. I'll go with Parsons. Now: Vogel, Shaw, Burke and Doylan or McHale, Simpson, Bickerstaff, Finch and Cooper ?
Lin needed to play more than 2 games in the playoff to count it as choking. Right now he just isn't that good. There's a difference.
ooh. that's interesting. I'll go with Vogel over McHale by an inch -- but i like both of them a lot, i think McHale is criticized way more than he deserves on this board. I've no opinion about the Rockets assistants. But as for Shaw, I think he was a superb signing by the Pacers and is a huge part of their success and especially development of George this year; he seems like a great communicator and should absolutely be given a chance to be a head coach.
Response Someone said that NBA player's dribbling doesn't really improve too much after you make it to NBA, is that true?
