I have been on this forum for a year now & the hating of Lin fans still goes on. To be frank it is beyond tiresome and immature. Just because some Lin fans chose to be silly doesn't mean others have to stoop to there level and hate them & call them names & spend their energies denouncing them . Can't we all just focus on basketball and the team? That is why I joined this board. To talk basketball, to talk about team and to learn. I totally agree with this. And there is a double standard. We ignore the small percentage of fans that want Lin to do bad but we declare our hatred (loudly and repeatedly) of the small percentage of Lin fans who do and say really dumb things. Why the double standard.?
You're totally right! I like Lin too never hated him. It's mainly the Lin fans that only wants him to the superstar of the team and all the other players to take the backseat that annoys me. They don't really care what's best for the team but what's best for Lin only.
I like Beverley too never hated him. It's mainly the Beverley fans that only wants him to the superstar of the team and all the other players to take the backseat that annoys me. They don't really care what's best for the team but what's best for Beverley only. I can see the same totally apply to you.
Put it this way. How many people register on this site because they are a fan of Jeremy Lin? Now, how many people would register on this site just to hate on Jeremy Lin? I'm sure the latter exists to a certain extent, but how many people do you think have so little life and so much time in their hands that they would register on this site just to hate on something? On the other hand, how many people join this site to support their favorite player, and only look out for the best interest of their favorite player? The difference is, one could characterize the former (people registering to hate on Lin) as your everyday troll. They are not fans of Rockets, nor anyone. They are just here to incite and cause drama. On the other hand, the latter group are simply "Lin only fans". Which group of people are more prevalent? More "noisy"? Which group of people tends to put down the players and staff of the team? It's not really a double standard if you think about it. And I assure you if a Rocket fan wants Jeremy Lin to fail, that same Rocket fan would be wanting his own team to fail, because the Rockets cannot afford to have Jeremy Lin failing.
Lmao I never said I wanted Beverley to be the star of this team. Now you twisting my words without shame.
This type of post gets old also. Look at your post it say Lin fans, and it points out that Lin fans are the problem. If you don't like Lin that's your right and there's no problem with that, but there are many Rocket fans that are Lin fans. Lin fans aren't the problem at all and I would think that Rocket fans would make an effort to make that clear. The problem is with LOF's (Lin only fans). These are the fans that would rather have good happen to Lin at the expense of the team if needed. The problem is also with the LOH's (Lin only haters). These are the fans that would rather have bad happen to Lin at the expense of the team if needed.
Do you not like Lin because of Lin's fans? Some LOF can be crazy annoying, but it seems most Rocket's fans do not let that annoyance spill over to their altitude toward Lin. Or does it?
The problem is not what Lin has to loose by being on the second team it's what the starting team has to loose with out Lin.
Those of you whining about this need to lay off Clutch, he didnt merge it I DID and as mentioned earlier by a very astute observer of this forum, it is something we do EVERY DAY to all kinds of threads...many of them most of you never see, because we have merged them or deleted them before you see them. as for the people whining about bias, we negrep and delete posts and even award tempbans and permabans of people that intentionally troll Linfans every damn day. but most of you NEVER SEE THAT....yet you feel you have the right to call us biased and dishonest?? There are alot of folks here that should consider themselves damn lucky Clutch is as kind and patient as he is....
Yup and if they start off playing Lin off the bench, I believe they're basically saying you're not in our long-term plans because I doubt Lin or Asik will resign after their contract is over to continue to be back-ups, if they're not traded before that. They've both shown they're capable starters.
i think bev is starting against orlando lets see how he does. if can can play like how he played against jrue holiday then we should continuing starting him
Don't forget Lin play well in that game too. He just did play as much because the starters all played less.
If the point is to let Lin facilitate more in the 2nd unit, why can't it be done by rotation? Patrick being able to start does not make Lin not being able to start. Jeremy has played great so fat this season. He has made tremendous improvements on the things that people complained about. It is not so often that a player make such big jump in a short time. It is certainly not the time to take away his starting postion.
A pretty good poster over at RealGM had this gem regarding Lin's 19% TOV%: This is pretty damning because he just isn't very efficient.
Sure one fan base maybe noisier than the other. But why the focus on the fan bases at all? Just ignore the LOF's & ignore the LOH's that is what I try to do. I just want to talk basketball and talk about the team. All this discussion about LOF's & LOH's being annoying and psychotic and whiny and whatever isn't constructive imo. I honestly TRY to just stay away from that (I am not always successful). It would be awesome if we could just focus on the team and not give those LOF's and the LOH's a bigger platform to be noisy. Ignore them, if we antagonize them and call them out on there B.S. chances are they just become louder & that reduces the overall quality of the board. Hopefully that makes sense.
Did you see the state of this board when McHale started Beverley against Pacers? One pre-season game, where McHale tested Beverley out at the starting line-up, the game in which the Rocket dominated from start to finish, was met with an absolutely meltdown. It's not exactly easy to ignore when it's everywhere.
