The problem with Lin leading the 2nd unit so that he could play with high usage like Linsanity is that McHale did not stagger Lin and Harden's minutes last year. Lin coming off the bench is pointless if McHale only plays him when Harden is still in the game...
I think we either need Lin or dmo in the starting line up. I think at their positions they are the two best passers. I'd like to see some differen combos of Lin with tjones starting and off the bench as well as Bev and dmo starting and off the bench. Watching the game it seemed like our starters could have used some better ball movement in the half court.
But why do we need him to play like Linsanity though? I just want him to keep the ball moving, attack the basket, pass to DH12 and hit 3's. That's it. He doesn't need to be scoring 20 points a game. 14 points with 6 assists and 4 rebounds 3 steals and 3 turnovers with greater than 33% from 3 and 45%FG is good enough for me.
Yeah....could just be a chemistry thing or it could be that style of play is different but not necessarily worse. Seemed like the offense flowed a bit better in game 1, but that could just be Indiana's defense. Small sample size so far. But really, either way I think the units are going to be good.
This is more of playing to the players strengths and less about statistics. Jeremy Lin is an incredible finisher and needs to be running pick and rolls. Utilizing him as a spot up just doesn't play to his strengths.
well now that the rockets actually have a PNR big man who actually commands defensive attention (no offense to asik) hypothetically we should be seeing a lot more of that
Jeremy Lin would be better than Jason Terry if he were to continue throughout the season being the sixth man.
Yeah Terry in his prime was beast, i think if lin is consistent he can get there. but you definitely cant use a pre season game playing against second string teams to judge. just wait until the season starts before we start comparing and what not
Now can we put the notion of J Lin being the 6th man to rest. bwhahahahaha Like I said dude will be the starter when the regular season begins.
Lin played amazing and you are most likely right, he probably will start but this game nailed home a lot of the points people have been making. Lin was great when harden and Howard were out of the game, attacking non stop. Bev like usual played amazing defense and limited his turnovers.
I'm confused, we're supposed to use one preseason game against a second string team to forsee an entire season? Relax dude, its still preseason. As has been said 1000s times, lin being the 6th man isn't about whos better, its about who fits better with what. And Lin still fits better with the second team rather than our starters.
No you use the full season of last year. Not just 3 pre-season games...And relax about what, you might want to follow that yourself. Who was the starter last season? What makes you think him starting is not best for the team. That is your opinion but I suppose to agree because?????? of what.
