and therein lies the problem, another brain dead clutch fan who only cares about getting the best mercenary in FA...championship teams are built with quality people both in the front office and on the team, we have neither
Stop being sensitive. Melo is #7 in new York and rockets just Photoshop him into rockets jersey with his number. Didn't hear crying from Beverly when Dwight had #12
Anyone remember when they brought in Rick for an interview when JVG was still the coach? Les doesn't give a single...........
who's sticking up for lin, he sucks, when he gets traded to philly, he should also do his wharton MBA for insurance...im just talking about handling business with more class
I know this is the nature of sports now, but I think it's pretty sad that we as humans have let "respect" come to the level where it's given out based solely on someone's abilities as an athlete. We're not talking about respect on the court, like "who takes the last shot", we're talking about basic human decency. Just think about that. And the response from Rockets fans - "Who gives a *****, we're getting Carmelo Anthony" as if not informing Lin prior to showing his number like that helps the chances of landing Carmelo?
Having read this article, the one who handled this shirt number stuff deserves to be fired on the spot.
Yeah. The photoshop thing happens. Especially when it involves major free agents. You photoshop the dude in his current jersey number or preferred number. Then, after acquisition, the actual jersey number thing gets worked out. What you don't see, or at least what I have never seen, is a guy taking to social media to complain about it. And it was a complaint, however wrapped in passive aggressive Christian garb it may have been. Lin's own follow up claiming his entitlement to "stand up" for himself against disrespect sealed the deal. I have followed Lin since his GS scrub days. I was surprised he would make such a slip so as to escalate things. But, again, it is Carmelo Anthony and there is some history there. There is no disrespect with the photochop. It wasn't in the past with other players. It isn't with Lin now.
It is a bit rude but what are you going to do. They are trying to recruit Melo. As for the Lin hate by Rockets fans, that is what is really disappointing. He is a classy guy and he did step up in the playoffs. You would think he single-handedly lost the series vs Portland reading posts here. It is mutually beneficial for him to leave and start over somewhere else and for the Rockets to search for that missing piece. The more I think about it, the less I think Melo would be a good fit though. Kevin Love or a new coach would help more.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Rockets mis-handled this ***** badly. You want all potential free agents to be treated as emotionless assets?
how ? the Rockets did the same with Dwight last season, but fans of Lin blow it out of proportion like they always do
Yes, the Houston Rockets should babysit Lin's feelings after he committed that stupid turnover that killed them in the playoffs. Folks, the ticket out of town was written a while back. It was signed and sealed once that series was over with.
Cuz Beverley didn't tweet that he was slapped in the face. Nor did Woj tweet about it, or Eric Freeman blog about it. Read the article.
