At least get your facts right. No one says he will be elite nor he is a scrub.
    Your point?

Yeah I would say that 43-44% is around average. 37% is pretty bad, but we still have a lot of games to go so the numbers should balance themselves if he is really decent. But his statline is pretty average for a $8m salary, and he comes with 5 reb a game, low TO, and top 5 in league in steals, decent defense, and a block or two. Pretty good, but his shooting has to improve.

If he shot more(about 10-15 shots more a game...he's currently shooting 6-10 shots a game...), and made it at 45% we would be looking at a all-star here. That statline is sick, besides the PPG/FG%. Don't know if he can go back to that level though, the Linsanity I saw and the Lin here seems world apart. His confidence is also shot.

I think Lin is pretty useless on this team though. What's the point of relegating him to a spot up shooter? Don't really understand this.

LOL Wasn't Steve Nash a late bloomer though how old was he when he finally blossomed?

I swear, someone go through the games and count every good look that Lin gives the team that gets bobbled away or otherwise isn't converted. And then do some math to convert the numbers to what he would have gotten if they were converting at Tyson Chandler/Novak/Smith FG%'s.

At this point I think Lin would be in double digit assists pretty much every game if the guys even managed to finish 1/3rd or 1/4 of the open looks he generates. I mean, the Rockets generate among the most 3pt attempts and yet has one of the crappiest FG%, how does that even work.

I only ever played basketball as a hobby, but the first thing i noticed when i started playing again (took a good deal of time away cause of it) was that i just simply couldn't elevate. rugby was okay, but in bball i went from getting a hand above the rim to nowhere near that.

Roxxy and Akim523 spilling the hot tea all over this. I would quote all their posts if I wasn't so lazy.

    Even apollo serving the truth.

Not true, you must have stopped watching when Woodson took over. Lin still got his and looked great while under Woodson even while having to play with 2 egotistical max players (Amare & Melo).

But anyways, the flawless torocan has given me hope in the team and coaches. I'll be patient ... for now. :p

Oh yeah and I also gotta chime in to say to Dei, you're a dumbass.

Actually, Jeremy has been playing well. He can afford to have a bad night. He'll be alright.

Steve Nash learned from Sam Cassell during Sam's brief stint as a Sun. Sam told him that he'd be a more effective point guard if he had a steady jumper.
now look what happened after that.

I know that Nash had a great shot coming into the NBA but that doesn't change the fact that he was slow to bloom as an NBA PG. He was getting boed in Dallas for a reason. He went to Pheonix & he thrived under Dantoni's system.

Thank you for going full r****d. Again.

Nash shot 42%, 46% and 36%!!!! in his first 3 seasons in the league.

He averaged 2, 3, and 5 assists in his first 3 seasons and 3, 7, and 9 pts.

    Anything else, dumba--?

Lin is top 3 in steals, blocks and rebounds for Point Guards as of tonight - not bad

And top 5 in Free Throws 90.5%
    17 in Assists

Just get the shooting back in order and you can't complain....

He would be averaging 8 assists a game if guys were converting the easy shots he gets them. His assists will go up as players get more familiar with him. Guys convert Harden's shots a lot easier than Lin's which shows you how little he is being used in practice it seems. His AR is really high considering the low USG. His USG needs to go way up though he is bottom of the league in USG that is pathetic. The fact that he is getting so few FGA is so dumb considering that he hypothetically is the second scoring option.

If his average was 8 assists, then he would be top 5 as well

    definite all star production IMO....

Off course scoring is the sexy stat that blinds others to his true value

I bet a lot of the close finishes would be a lot worse, if Lin was not playing

Well the offense would go majorly down the drain if he weren't playing, that's because he has good court vision. But at the same time he makes it very difficult for himself and for others (including fans) when he gets 2-3 open 3s a game and makes none of them.

An open shot is not always a good shot - its' why it's open to begin with :)

Yeah I believe Bull said this that just because you are open doesn't mean you have to take that shot. You don't have to take the shot the defense gives you, you can try & get your own shot. Needs to do that more.
