Yes because no player on this Earth has ever been called a scrub before, and no athlete on this planet has been called a joke before. Only Lin gets it because he's Asian and people are envy of his Asian sucess and has venom and hatred.
I would rather the criticism have numbers/stats and context to support the convo. To differentiate from the blind bias running rampant on these forums. On both ends of the spectrum. Also instead of generalizing posters into two segments, pointing out specific posters or commentary to discuss in further detail. If you don't want to actually reply seriously when one of your points is taken into the spotlight then y

Racism! what's that? get with the program man this is 2012 racism doesn't exist anymore! dude don't you know that history washes itself away every 20 years? (end sarcasm)
Why would I reply to trolls? If they are just shouting scrub or saying he's a joke then what good does it do to reply back? I debate defenders because they reply back to me. I'm a Lin fan I want him to do well but that doesn't mean I'm not going to criticize him.
Here a criticism with stat Lin game winning shot with the Rockets 0-1 Number of airball on a wide open gaming winning shot 1
See, that's solid. I like this post. With the last shot taken by Harden with a Chance to go to OT. Thus we identify how Lins epic miss was only one of many missed opportunities.
No, I'm solid; and you know what is a real joke? The Rocket's new network deal that shuts out the majority of fans. Most of us have no options at all since Comcast is limited to a portion of the Houston area. What were they thinking?
you see it's alot more complex than that. Lin gets it because he gets extra attention/hype because he's Asian. THAT is what the haters really dislike, I think most of the haters are not really racist towards Asians with the exception of a small minority. basically it goes: - Lin gets extra attention & hype cuz he's Asian - People get pissed that he gets extra attention because he's Asian - People want to see him fail because he gets extra attention Please provide me an example of a guy who is almost a rookie getting called a joke & scrub by the majority of forum members for ONE PLAY in a nothing game against the champs, a guy who is 23 and coming off a good year. Please I'm waiting.
lin needs to be more aggressive... he's not bringing up the ball, just running up the court and standing at the 3 point line.. when he gets the ball he's not doing anything with except passing it. on a brighter note.. parsons was beasting!!
But let us assume whatif. Lin hits a three. Is the game over? Does that mean Miami stops playing? Does their chance to tie it up go to 0 after that? It was a chance to go up but there was a rebound missed, questionable acts by refs and one more shot attempt. Lin needs to put in some work. Can't completely miss the hoop.
He didn't park at the corner EVERY SINGLE possession as evidence by his number of assists. But he played Pass and Park most of the time. When he pass the ball to Harden,Harden will pass it to the opposite side and Lin will hardly get the ball back.Even when he receive the ball back,he seems lost.It looks like he is scared to make a mistake instead of trying to score. Offensively he is not aggressive and undecisive ,unlike when he was playing in New York.Yet defensively he played aggressively, going for the steal, taking charges ,going for rebound .He even had 4 block shots against Miami.Imo he played well with the ball and not off the ball.He played well with the ball in his hand most of the time. Harden should take the most shots but it doesn't mean that he should have the most touches because that is not his strong asset. In New York,Lin played well when Camelo was injured and he was playing with bench players. When Camelo came back from injury, and Wooden wanted the ball go thru Camelo,Lin lost his effectiveness.Yes,offensively Lin facial expression does not show fire, but uncertainty, yet defensively he shows competiveness. Lin play a same style as Steve Nash although he is far from being Nash.If you restrict Nash 's play and run most of the play thru Kobe,i think his effeectiness will drop too.Playing basketball used to be fun for Lin,but now i saw no fun in his eyes.
