It happens to Lin OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I ask again. I just need to know one thing... When in God's name will Jeremy stop dribbling into the paint, jump up, and throw the ball away? Its been 2.5 seasons. When will he STOP DOING THIS?
McHale felt the need to hide Lin on defense by putting Parsons on Paul therefore throwing off the defensive rotations. Even when he got the relief of having to guard Paul on defense, he stunk it up on offense. Parsons had to guard a quick and craft Paul while still was able put up 28 pts.
1-9 FG 0-3 3pt 2 Assists in 30 minutes Shameless 2pt stat pad at the end of game Atta boy! way to rise to the challenge!
Lin wasn't great on offense. PPS was about 1.1 which wasn't great. Adjusted FG % was like 5-13, which isn't that great but not terrible.
the hate Lin gets is kind of funny, since he plays on your team. But it seems like Jeremy doesn't play on the rockets, or you really root for a different team. we'll see what happens in the playoffs. all of this is mongering and knee jerk reactions. It's not like McHale gives Lin confidence to play his game. It's not like Lin isn't a human gets affected by coaches that don't believe in him
LOL. The cry baby fest continues. "Nobody believes in him!!!" You have to give people a justification to do so, Lin is getting more love than he should which is ironic. How do you explain a player like Beverly from Russia outplaying him? He needs to stop being a turd and maybe he will get treated better.
If Lin is as bad as you guys say he is, then there's really only two people you can blame: 1) Morey for giving him that contract and trading Brooks. 2) McHale for giving him the minutes and starting job. Garcia & Casspi stunk it up, and now McHale barely plays them... yet he continues to play Lin. If Lin is so bad, then why does Morey go and trade AB away? If Lin is really hurting this team so much, then you know there's other people in the organization that can really do something about it.
Not even the worst teams in the NBA like Milwaukee or the 76ers would want this overpaid scrub on their team.
Lin has potential and a place in the league, he should be a 15/5 guy. McHale is in his head and he's shook. Unless Lin comes alive down the stretch, he either needs a different coach or a different team/setting.
offense = bad momentum killing turnovers, shot 1-9 FG..a few which were on fastbreaks, got some stat padding FTs at the end of the game, only 2 assists in 32 minutes. bad offense to me.
It's Beverley's fault that he was out so Lin had to play starter's minutes and suck. Damn you Beverley!
Ya but you gotta understand. Im not here defending Lin. I cringed when we signed him. Im just the worried Rockets fan that...is worried....that we will have him until his contract ends cuz no owner will be willing to throw down the 15 million he will make next year. The "impact" comes in the form of....if we had a good 6th man who could be consistent game in-game out, it would help greatly. Lin is ok sometimes but a black hole other times. To me, its a negative impact because, disagree or not, Lin has an important spot in the rotation. Look at any of the top teams right now. Duncan/Parker/Manu have Leonard, Bellinelli who can impact games. LeBron/Bosh/Wade have Battier and Allen. Paul/Griffin have Crawford and Collison. Howard and Harden have Lin. He's a black hole on too many occasions and if Morey can't find a place for him, he's gonna impact the salary side of it too.
I don't think I've criticized Lin, but it is his play that justifies the criticism. It is such an excuse to use the confidence that McHale has in Lin to justify his ineffectiveness in the system. When Lin has the ball, he is in control of the flow of the play. More times than not it ends with him jumping in the air and making an errant pass. He had a unique opportunity to refute his critics and prove his worth with the starting lineup, and nearly was outplayed by the rookie. Whatever anyone says, contracts do matter. There is an expectation to play to that value of the contract.
