Just a perspective. Asik (3) and Hamilton (1) missed 4 DUNKS between them from Lin passes. That brings his stat line up to 6 assists in 24 minutes which isn't too bad.
Normally I say its pointless to mention that Lin lost some assists due to blown dunks and players missing open looks, etc. because all point guards lose assists that way. Chris Paul would probably get fifteen assists a game if players didn't blow easy looks. lol But in this case... like four missed dunks... yeah, that was exceptionally bad. Kinda have to take that into account this one time.
He's always had good court vision. But the team needs him more as an aggressive scorer than a facilitator
I really dont like threads like this. Even if someone does believe one of our players is underperforming or is a "joke" i just dont think it reflects well on the Rockets fan base to constantly bash their players. As long as the player gives their all and fights for his teamates i will stand by him no matter the outcome. Yes we dont like some of his most ardent supporters but lets not point our anger towards Jeremy.
Yeah, the poster I was discussing with didn't seem to think Lin had above-average vision. I think the poster said that Parsons and a couple of other Rockets players could make those same "nice" passes.
Lin needed more minutes last night against OKC to impact the game. Though I think he is a 17/7 guy w/intangibles if given 30 minutes a game, on this team and with this coach, I'd rather he hoist up 10-15 shots a game and see if he can get to 20 pts. He should be like Jamal Crawford. He makes a lot of nice passes that aren't converted and some which are (generally when he plays with starters they finish but the bench guys don't). The coaching staff also doesn't reward him with more minutes for good ball movement, hitting the open man, or for rebounds, steals or loose ball plays. That's just been the trend. When he's scoring like a mad man, he stays on the court. When he's a facilitator or playmaker, he doesn't get rewarded with minutes. His natural tendency is to be a team guy, but I don't think it helps him with this team.
I don't understand this. Lin turned the ball over to often last game to keep him out there. Those back to back bone headed plays sealed it. If given 30 minutes? He averages 29. Bottom line he needs to do what he was doing the last hand full of games to stay out there. Play within the offense, limit turnovers and when his shot is falling don't be afraid to put up shots. He is a huge asset to our team when he plays this way. No need to go out there and just jack up shots for the hell of it. And trust me if he is playmaking and limiting mistakes he's gonna stay out there. Sidenote. You have now taken the belt for the champion Lin excuse maker. "If it weren't for this coach and team and playing with bench players...." Jesus that gets old.
Therein lies your problem. I like Lin but he hasn't shown that kind of consistency. If you really believe he's a 17/7 being held back then you're setting yourself up for a letdown. See previous comments about minutes.
not just about minutes, but about usg rate, players around you, blahdity blah. not tryna argue, just sayin.
It just shows how much Clutch dislike Jeremy. Other moderators would not even allow a thread with a title like this. It's almost like encouraging to hate on a player....a Rocket player. And that's sad.
Lin took the bad three point shot because he never sees the ball in rotation as Harden holds the ball too long or Parsons sometimes thinks he is a point forward. After Lin made his previous shot and fist pumped he did not see the ball. His turnover looked bad but his teammates did not move or cut down the lane. You would think with practicing against Beverly ..on ball pressure should not bother Lin but it does as Perkins from bench was telling his guards to pressure Lin early.
I think Clutch is handling it well. He doesn't allow a multitude of stupid threads if you generally dislike Lin come dump your garbage here. There are multitude of Lin love pages. I do know he prefers Beverly over Lin and doesn't even think it's very close but in reality for a lot of the season it hasn't been close. Not to be rude but this isn't a Lin site it's a Rocket site and as long as people aren't being total asses the good the bad and the ugly is allowed. I wouldn't expect it any other way and I like Lin.
To be honest i agree with OMR, if you've been here earlier, there was a tide of Lin loving posts and retaliatory messages that were going out of hand. This thread and the Pat Bev numbers are clear threads really served well as a sinkhole for all the vitriol. Fact is, this is the internet and to make for easier reading (though irritating), these threads have sadly become a near necessity. Don't read too much into it, its the internet after all.
I know it's not a Lin site. Lol Clutch is not high on Lin as a player. He was not in favor of Lin from the get go. He posted it here a few years ago. I just find the title of the thread insulting....just my opinion.
You my man are a problem. Its the people like you that bring on all this extra criticism on Jeremy because people hate what posters like yourself have brought to this board. You accuse everyone including Clutch, coaches, and other players of "Hating" Jeremy and the reason for his production. The only "sad" thing here is what this board has become after the inundation of posters like yourself.
Lol there are very few Lin fans left here but I guess you haven't noticed. Have you seen my posts? I SELDOM criticize. I don't come here to dog on everyone and prop up Lin. You're barking on the wrong tree.
