It brothers me that you are trying to find excuses for Lin's performance which has nothing to do with how he played currently - most of his current problems are related to lack of confidence and bad decision making, like last night, 4 times in a row to do the same thing : jumping up and then turn around to look for teammates to pass the ball, 2 TOs and the other 2 times got lucky as Ham & Harden picked up the balls.

While I am not proud of how Lin was playing lately, at least I am proud of how he handled himself as a player and as a role model so far, its a shame for his fan like you that keep finding this kind excuse for him.

You clearly misunderstood my original post. I said he is the main reason we AREN'T blowing teams out by 20-30 points. Not the ONLY reason, but the MAIN reason. His poor play is preventing us from doing so.

cant compare, Beverley is supposed to bring toughness and D to starters, Lin to be 1st option on 2nd unit, and one is clearly not doing his job right now

You don't think back issues can lead to a lack of confidence? I'm not defending him but I'm just saying such injuries can completely change the way people perform, and Lin has yet to prove he can play even adequately through injury, it seems to me he's performances are like a massive jenga block, pull out one and everything crumbles.

Same way Harden didn't have the confidence to move his feet defensively when he was playing 40 MPG on bung feet. I defended him so I'll defend Lin. Harden looks ridiculous right now, he's been playing some good defensive games as well and that's what it's gonna take for him to get to the next level.

    ...TWO POINTS LOL

I think this is Lin's low point for sure. People can say it was sleeping on the couch or whatever - but then he had a chip on his shoulder and had nothing to lose.

Now he has something to lose. He had the pressure of the contract to live up to, Linsanity, his starting job. All that is now clear to everyone, including himself - a big mistake / fluke.

That reality can be hard for a young man like Lin to take. And it's going to affect him mentally because let's face it, he's not emotionally tough. We know he's not emotionally tough because his reactions to every mistake or call against him is surprise or dejection. It affects him way too much. He's in need to confidence building. His self-esteem is shot.

Problem is that it's not up to other players, the fans, the coaches or anyone to raise his self-esteem. It's up to him.

He needs to truly accept his role, forget about all the pressure, forget about failing and letting everyone down. He just needs to go out there and have a lot more fun playing basketball.

LOF or LOH, you guys are so obsessed about the guy, who is the bench player that plays 15-20mins a game.

I don't get why people get so emotional about this guy. fan or hater.
He's been stealing all the starters spotlight by playing poorly.

Hell he steals the spotlight with anything!

Nicely stated. Lin needs to start having fun out there. I hope he can get it going soon. IF he can't then it is time to give Canaan shot.

I was just using that as a point. They both have their roles and right now Bev is fulfilling his better but I think Jeremy will come around.

As bad as Lin has played, I never thought Beverley would actually pass him on 3pt percentage but he indeed has.

Meh... I anticipate PBev falling back to his mean eventually. I am enjoying it for as long as it continues to last. Hopefully we see a Lowry-esq 3pt improvement from him after this upcoming offseason. That would be awesome!

simple question - is he injured, and does that effect his physical abilities? i'm providing a reason for his obvious lack of explosiveness, tentativeness at attacking the rim, and obvious decline in speed and pace. unless you don't think there's any physical drop-off at all between the lin you see now vs. the one you saw before ASG? you don't think these are things that are effected by a back injury? these are things that he relied on to play well when healthy, and are not there when he is not. he's a player that is very dependent on his physical abilities, and not like stockton that is dependent on his bball IQ. without his speed and explosiveness, he wouldn't even be in the league. people want to paint him as this smart asian guy that lacks physical talent but gets by with his smarts, whereas in reality that's not really the case.

he's been doing crap like this for a while now - it's just before, he positive contributions, due to his physical abilities (shooting, finishing at the rim, pushing the pace) covered up for some of stuff.

so no, i'm not making excuse for his poor decision making. but i'm providing reasons for why he's not producing as well as before, and that reason is physical injury, plain and simple.

Here is what I want to see:

    - If Lin jumps up with the ball again without a plan, bench him instantly
    - After a 10 minute time out, put him back in and see if he does it again.

This will hopefully condition Lin not to commit such basic mistakes. PG's HAVE TO LEARN to keep their dribble alive.

    The simple fact,

during the ASG break, Lin was not staying in Houston for rehab, he was not resting nor doing any specific training with the Rockets trainers.

In fact, he travelled to New York and having fun there with his friends.

So, he was and should be 100% healthy for the second half after the break.

He did not miss any practices until about 3-4 days ago prior to the Heat game.

And that was after 6 games he sucked pretty badly.

And then the "news broken" with him and D12 having back issues.

Great, now you can have you prefect excuse for his poor performance.

Jeremy Lin needs Jesus Christ to get him out of this deep hole he's in. No other solution because he cant help himself.

I'm sorry, I respectfully disagree. It's just teams know how to defend him better now. He hasn't added anything else to his game and has actually regressed in his decision making. He's very predictable with his moves. He just sucks plain & simple.
