I don't have time to dig into all the advanced metrics that some of you guys do, so I just use the eye test... and based on watching the games this year, its clear that our style of offense will create a lot of turnovers, however, when you see harden running pg whenever bev gets into foul trouble (which happens a lot, but that's because of his physical D he plays) vs. when lin runs the point, there seems to be a lot more liveball TOs from lin than harden, which equate to automatic points of TO.... harden's TO are usually from a travel call from too many euro steps or from a charge when he drives to the lane.. those TOs still give you a chance to set your D up on the opponents next possession.... I think lin plays a lot better off the ball as a slashing 2 guard... he can hit the spot up shot and take his man off the dribble.... but as a TRUE pg... he turns it over way too much and sometimes causes the stagnant ball movement (and yes, I know harden causes a lot of the stagnant ball movement too, but I trust him to make a play vs. lin)
Almost every player in the NBA has to fill those roles. Shooting, passing, driving, rebounding. There are of course players that specialize in one thing but the vast majority of the league has to wear many hats. I won't argue that Lin is a better player than what he's shown lately. But I still think you're deflecting blame and giving him undue credit for wins. It's very rare for a single player to determine a win. Even last second buzzer beaters don't always tell the story. But, to each his own.
Jeremy Lin: weak minded, or trying to play through injury for the team? Which is it? More importantly, WTF. About Dwight's sore back. Hope they're both ok, and recover quickly.
As to the back injury, Lin has a history of playing injured when he shouldn't (e.g., playoffs 2013). And when he doesn't have it physically, then his mental game falls apart as well. That appears to be the dynamic here.
This is pretty much what I said in my above posts (quoted) and the poster took offense to that as me "bashing" Lin, calling me the LOH #1 etc. I just LOL at such narrow minded agenda based posters.
You just have to have a thicker skin and skip obvious flame bait post or teenage angst post. You jumped into a thread like this and you should expect a lot of passionate viewpoints.
Or maybe Lin's not actually injured, but McHale sees the psychological dynamic I suggested earlier, and plans to rest him a few games in the manner. Sit him to heal his mind or body, whichever may be injured (and possibly both).
ya I didn't get to read any of your posts before I posted that, but ya, those other posters are just super LOF's who will be devastated when he's gone in the offseason lol
I didn't say anyone was at fault. I don't think he has struggled much at all this year apart from these last few games post-all star break. It is a fact that the Rockets have given him a role that is not primarily suited to his talents and that he has had to adapt. I think he acquitted himself very well in the first half of the season. Rockets fans don't seem to appreciate what he has been able to do, especially when a Rockets fan site has a diary title saying that he sucks when in fact he has not sucked. He's actually been very good if not 'clutch' for this team.
Newbs. This ain't Jeremy lin land where you go can buy kool aid and drink it all day til you get that lin sugar rush This is clutch fans real drinks Real basketball fans
Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna love. But honesty this debate is old. He is what he is. Let's hope he starts playing better. He's a good kid who has his heart in the right place and is gonna be a Rocket the rest of the season, love'm or hate'm.
He is going to be a rocket then next two seasons. He is untradeable so lets all hope he stops sucking.
