I'm serious. He needs to be like most of the NBA players. That's what you are saying?

Most likely this. Maybe there was a trade involving Shumpert before he got injured which Lin knew about. Maybe he already packed and had to unpacked everything and is upset about it. ;)

I doubt it. Lin's slump started before the trade deadline. Definitely something mental though ... he's not worth playing in his current state, but Rockets need to ride it out until he snaps out of it. He's not this bad of a player.

This and the cross court jump passes that if they get picked off are an easy 2 the other way.... horrible court vision with those passes time and time again.

It's not the city of Houston, lots of good places to eat and sugary drink venues.

I kind of feel sorry for the kid. I remember Carmelo had the same confidence slump in 2012 but that was even blown up more in the media since he was being blamed for there teams woes at the time which even made it worse.

Lin should be fortunate that there are stars in the team that are carrying the load and there is not as much spotlight on him and the team is winning, so I would expect it that he should be able to bounce back easier if he can get it back together.

Just watching him play in the past few games, he seems to be just taking a backseat, so scared to make a mistakes (which in turn makes him do more mistakes). His lost his confidence to drive in, which in turn makes him do those T/O passes in the lane because his hesitant and is caught in two minds. His jumpshot is also off which makes amplifies things since he has lost all avenue to score.

I also noticed in the past 3-4 games he has been coming late into the bench at the start of games (not sure if his getting back treatments or posting stuff on instagram/twitter) and normally comes back to the bench when his about to be subbed in.

My advice to him if I could is....

    1) Get your bum on the bench before tip off! You need to observe the flow of the game before subbing in. Those extra 5-8 mins of back rubs won't do you any good than actually watching and observing the flow of the game.

    2) Relax your mind and don't over think. Just focus on the game at hand and your assignment which is to be aggressive on offense and defense (his defense has been ok tbh).

    3) On offense, you have an ability of a very quick first step...if you decide to drive to the basket, then commit to it 100%!! Only pass inside the paint, I repeat, ONLY PASS inside the paint if you see an easy assist (that you can make) especially if you have drawn several players to you. But if not, then commit to the drive 100%. It would be better that you get blocked than a T/O. Keep doing this, and you will eventually get either more baskets or get fouled than blocks.

    4) Try to hold on to the ball and move with the ball longer than you currently are. At the moment, as soon as you get the ball you pass it for the sake of passing it just because your are so scared to make a mistake. Have a direction of what you are trying to do and make sure you also understand what your team mates are trying to do.

    5) If you make a mistake, don't over analyse it. Mistakes happen...focus back on the game and your assignment.

    Let him hit rock bottom.

A three game sit, to give him time to mentally re-gather himself. Sessions with sports psychologist.

Play him only if he gets his mental game together. He has to mentally commit to his role for the remainder of the two seasons. That'd be 30 minutes of SG off the bench, which is not so terrible.

    He's unplayable until then.

(All this assuming he is physically recovered from injury.)

Just like to emphasis point 2 a bit more...when you are on the court....only focus on the game. Don't think of other things around you. I suggest to get off twitter/instagram/forums etc.. since these stuff can really play with some players minds. Beverley is a prime example of a well focused player...when his on the court he is so keyed in to the game, he really gets into the flow of the game and does not have anything outside cloud his mind.
