My question is. When Lin sucks with his next team and is out of the NBA in a few seasons like Rafer Alston (hey at least Rafer went to the finals!) before him, what will all the LOF do?
I don't know what Lin's issue is. He was fine in late January-early February (was actually an official Player of the Week candidate the week that Dragic and Lowry won it) and then just went into a funk after the Allstar Break. Did something happen over that weekend? The contrast is just stark. The biggest part seems to be that he's struggled with getting to the basket and finishing/drawing fouls. Usually we expect players to come back from a break rested and energized but it's been the opposite.
On top of that, you would think coming home after that long trip would help but he played like **** tonight too.
Lin needs to get laid. Enough of this " I want to be a minister after the NBA" nonsense. Go stick your face in some nice t***, get hungover all weekend, bang multiple women even if you happen to get the clap from one of them (you only live once...) . I Seriously believe that he wouldn't be so up tight and insecure about his play if he went the Harden, Parsons, Dwight (baby mamas in his case) route.
Pre ASG and Post ASG we have a different person wearing that #7 jersey. Somebody sucked the life out of his condifence
It's very obvious now that Jeremy is only in Houston for the money. He looks disinterested in playing and when he does, is playing scrappy as there is no motivation. Why shoot and mess up your % ? Wait it out this year (perhaps feign injury), play minimal games next year to reach an o.k stat so after being shipped could probably land himself a good 3-4yr contract for 9-12mn in a more Asian centric team like NY, B.N, L.A (Lakers or Clips) or G.S where most of the Asians in the U.S live. 3mn a year is nothing compared to the revenue a team will be getting in having an "asian american" represent. See his All Star voting ? (funny). The NBA and Jeremy's family had this figured out a long time ago (and on the back of him his family are set for life). I wouldn't be suprised if Silverman and Mama Lin are bearing down on Coach McHale saying "Jeremy must play the min/minutes". With salary and sponshorship he'll be set on 6mn a year min after 2015 for atleast the next 4 years when he'll then most likely retire from the N.B.A (RESPECT). As God/Allah/Buddha is my witness, JLin is no dummy - you haters and lovers....are.
Don't know what it is about Lin. He's always run hot and cold but he honestly looks now as if he'd get raped in the D-league. Something's got itself wedged between his ears, almost as if he was told he was on the verge of being shipped out at the trade deadline and then it didn't happen. I don't know. Something.
Doubt that his motivation is that much different now vs. 15 or 20 days ago. He was pretty excited doing the "Howard sucks!" chant with the teammates after the Lakers game. Also looks to be doing a solid job on defense. Don't think he all of a sudden just said "screw you guys" or anything. People talk about the psychological effect of the trade talks and all that stuff but those things have been going on forever and were there when he was playing well. Chance are he'll snap out of this barring some lingering physical cause. Extremely bad level of play is no more sustainable than extremely high level of play.
It's not complicated with Lin or any 6th man: he hasn't been making shots for the last 5 games or so. His other stats are pretty solid realtive to minutes played. He just has to see the ball go in the basket early in the game, and his shooting percentage will return to its normal range.
This is the most idiotic comment iv ever heard. You can't seriously believe what you just wrote. Having a Harvard education doesn't matter once your in the NBA. Hell the best player in the game came out of high school. Your the fool if you think Jeremy Lin is going to make 6 mil a yr if he continues to play at this level for the next yr and half. He would be lucky to get a vet min deal. The guy has been absolute trash for the past 5 games. Adam silver isn't doing anything to ensure Jeremy Lin stays in the league, his play will have to do that. I know it's hard for some fans that didn't watch basketball before Lin to understand but the nba and the Rockets make more money marketing harden and Howard as contenders than Jeremy Lin. How many nike/ addias/ footlocker commercials u see Lin in? 0. How many new commercials you see harden and Howard in? They seem to have anew one every week. Nuff said.
The other thing I would note is that he has to come into the game a little more selfish -- look to score first even if it pisses Howard/McHale/Sampson off (note I did not mention Harden). Forget about getting others involved. Get yourself going and the rest will follow.
McHale talked about Lin's struggled in response to (I think) Clutch's question: http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/game-day-rockets-vs-pistons
"You're" entitled to "your" own opinion. (seriously, it is not that hard). Jeremy wasn't fearful of the Feb deadline. He knew his future was set (dollarwise that is) and now he's just playing to one of his many options that he and his family set out back in 2012 with the Rockets and undoubtedly the N.B.A. REALITY. May hurt when it hits.
I really hope this is just a really long "cold" streak, leading to a run of great form heading into and during the playoffs. At the moment though, I'm not too confident of this happening. I don't think McHale has the balls to bench Lin because he's too afraid of the backlash. It really sucks seeing the third highest paid player on our team sucking it up and maybe even eventually ending on the end of the bench. It's extremely fortunate that we have both Dmo and Jordan Hamilton stepping up, or else we would probably have 2 more losses than we have now.
Lin has not played well since his triple double..... I don't know if that's a coincidence, but just an observation. I will say this.... It seems like his teammates have also lost confidence in him. (Save for DMo.) Before Lin is substituted, players are moving without the ball, getting open off screens, etc. ... When Lin comes in, and then gets the ball, all of a sudden, the player movement just stops. Completely. I also noticed something unusual about Lin's 3pt shot in the Pistons game.... It was significantly flatter than how he normally shoots it. (This would be a bad time to tinker with a jump shot.) It has gotten to the point where Pat Beverley now looks more like "Linsanity" than Lin himself...........
