I am referring to the stereotypes we make consciously or unconsciously. The examples I gave were the more generic ones.
This thread proves that the internet brings out the worst in people. That's what hiding behind a computer will do. It also reveals all the stupid and mentally disturbed people there exists. It's a big world. The internet gives all those who shouldn't have a voice a voice.
I don't think 5 high school kids could score at all on 5 NBA players in 19 minutes, if the NBA players are motivated, FULL COURT. It's not a matter of height. The high school players would have difficulty even moving the ball without getting stripped.
The guy was saying Lin's production was so low last night he could've replaced him. Might've been an exaggeration but the point was that Lin was so bad. But here's the guy waving around the bet: Here are the terms: 1) not be able to score a bucket in 19 minutes 2) not even get to touch the ball 3) not be able to shoot 50% FT Accomplish one to win even, from how I'm reading it. It's very doable. I doubt davidio840 or any joe can do it gracefully but it's not that hard. It'd be a great advantage if you can do 3s since your defender will probably run away from you to guard somebody else.
Have you ever seen the U.S. Olympic team play a national team from scrubistan? If they do a FULL COURT PRESS with aggressive trapping of the ball handler, the scrubistanis cough up the ball almost every time.
It's no doubt you have never played competitive basketball. If you do, you would know that the higher the competition, the more pressure it is on the player. You got to be ready not just physically, but mentality. But what would you know?
An average joe may be ready physically, but I am sure he is not ready mentally if he has not played an NBA game. Like I said, you have to play to understand.
Don't be ridiculous, you can't say that for everybody. Sure. But I can also say that some people are here just to spite the people who think Lin is playing badly, who are reactive to any degree of criticism, aren't open to discussion and respond very sarcastically.
Sorry to derail this scintillating conversation but since all these buyouts are happening, I was wondering if a buyout on Lin's contract is possible? Not up on the legal side. Would it ever happen, like if Lin gets pushed further out of the rotation?
