Just because your arguments don't holdup is no reason to attack me and say I'm not a Rockets fan. Maybe you should check yourself NOOB.
I'm just pointing out the obvious. But don't know how patient you expect people to be when the guy is making $8 million a year and isn't much better than the back up point guard.
Average point guards make around that much. And it's only 5 million technically. 8 million on our cap.
I get it, he sucks. You want him traded no worries, he will be. Who do you eant on this team that is available?
You just proved that all three are backups. But to be fair, Lowry is coming off the bench in Toronto.
Lin is what he has shown... Inconsistent, hesitant and at best a below average shooter. He can be a productive backup, starter on a team where he dominates the ball and everybody else is a scrub, that's about it. I think Lin will be traded and be serviceable backup for 5 years and retire by 30 when his athleticism has gone. Good profitable career.
People's expectations are way too high. Lin's usage was 27% last year. His usage has decreased to 19% this year and you expect him to maintain his 18/8 production? His role has completely changed on this team. Jrue Holiday wasn't the primary playmaker last year, he shared ballhandling duties with Iguodala and he averaged 14 and 4. This year he has entire reign on the offense and his stats of course improve.
I could ramble off a long list but I had just posted on the random trade idea thread that J.J. Redick would be a good addition. He's a spot up shooter and would be good splitting time with Lin.
No way the team takes on his 6 mill per contract while retaining Lin. I think Lin could actually get traded to the Magic if JJ redick were to be attained.
This. Jrue Holliday would be putting up Lin's stats if he was on this team and Lin would be putting up 18/8 if he had Holliday's freedom in Philly.
I think they would. But it would make Lin expendable. Because J.J. fits this offense better than Lin and he has better point guard skills than Douglas and plus he is a consistent offensive threat.
People don't have a choice. They can whine and get frustrated, or be patient. Rockets brass are going to stick with lin for a long time.
Are you guys gonna keep bumping this thread every time Lin either has a good or bad game for the rest of his career? Young players tend to be inconsistent as they try to figure out their place in the league and their role on their teams. Lin has proven he's a starter, but has games where he shows the potential to be something more and games where he doesn't do great. Except for the freaks like Duncan and LBJ, the vast majority of players early in their careers have ups and downs. Reading into every bad game means that Lin is a joke or alternately every good game means that he is bound for superstardom is ridiculous. If you're doing either of these, you're just cherrypicking games and stats to fit your preferred narrative of the guy. Either way, it's obvious that Lin and the Rockets' fates are tied to each other. If Lin does well, the Rockets do too and vice versa. So if you're a hater, you should be rooting for him to do well so the Rox win. And if you're an 'only fan' you should hope the Rockets win.
That's hard to say considering that they may not have signed Lin if they would have traded for Harden first. But I don't think they will trade him this season. I think they will let him play out the rest of the season and see how it goes.
