I'm going to put this out because a lot of people don't understand this. Its a stupid term, but Lin-Only-Fan means all you care about is Lin, even before the team. Even when YOF were here they never admitted to being them. The LOF on this site are either under the wrong impression or are just that hardcore about Lin. If you are a "X" only fan, you are putting them before the team.
Talk about stupid, which Lin fan has said Lin has more trading value than Kobe? Making stuff up makes you look dumber than all these Lin haters trolling for a response from Lin fans.
Nobody would go to that length but to post one stupid ass defensive play? Come on dude. That was one of the worst posts I have ever seen, MOFvsLOF might actually be a troll because nobody is that stupid.
I have to say, as reactionary as this thread is, every time I read the first post I laugh out loud. I imagine the voice of the OP getting increasingly higher and more shrill as he says "But THIS! THIS IS A JOKE! NO EXCUSE NOW! JEREMY LIN IS A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!"
Lin didn't outplay Harden try again. Harden scored points down the stretch, Harden got a crucial offensive rebound in the last minute of the game. When the game mattered Lin wasn't on the court because he was fouling if you want to call that good defense then may God help you dude. Yeah he was looking to score I mean everyone on the court was basically doing that but Lin scored 4 points... That's what he did but we won which was good. Lin definitely didn't play better than Harden and Harden has had a way better year so far because he plays like a man even when he plays below average.
well...it was in response to this. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Z7KsuyQb-1Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
What does that mean, "add to his portfolio"? As in, actually trying to win and doing a good job? Sampson is not treating Lin as a rookie compared to Harden. Harden is plain and simply the far superior player. And when the bench was keying our comeback, Sampson stuck with all 3 of them, not just Douglas. Sampson is getting praise because he was a big reason why we won the game last night. That doesn't mean he hasn't made mistakes, or that he won't in the future. Same with McHale. But all in all, considering the circumstances and how much further we have to go, the coaching staff have done a tremendous job this year.
I think Lin was okay for his aggressiveness on offense last night - however he was too aggressive on defense. Sometimes he takes too much of a gamble of trying to draw a charge or strip his man and he gets burned. Happened a lot early on GSW, and a few times when he was on the Knicks. Maybe he had a personal vendetta to play extra hard against Kobe (which I really think he is motivated to do)
Yeah that's what I don't get. Is there any coach in the NBA that's not trying to win games? Sampson is going to put the players on the floor he thinks gives him the best chance to win and so far he's looking good.
Foul trouble for Lin. Toney was hot. And in the final minutes of the game, you should have Harden out there. Why is any of this controversial? It just makes sense. (And no, Toney's not going to start now. Sheesh.)
Yes pretty much. But I am just making an observation on Sampsons unique situation. You have to take that into consideration. He is an assistant coach who is now acting as the head coach. Yes he wants to win just like every other coach. But at the same time I think it would be naive to not realize that this isn't a great opportunity for him to show that he is head coach caliber. Everybody has ambition, Sampson wants to be more than just an assistant coach. I am not crucifying him for it my goodness if I was in his shoes I would do the same.
Lin fans, just stop. Youre embarassing yourselves. Hes not worth his contract, thats for sure, it is not racism, hating, or anything of that nature. The truth is, is that he simply suck, the truth hurts. Maybe he can come out of his slump, or maybe he is what he is because his confidence wanes like a roller coaster. Its a sad reality factually based
In last night's game, Lin had 3 separate stints for which the team went: -11, -8, +1. Douglas had 3 stints himself, during which the team went: +4, +2, +14. Sampson was trying to win the game, and he went with the combination of players that were playing well together. Absolutely nothing wrong with that (and that would hold true even if the Lakers pulled out the win in the end). Like any other young, developing player, if Lin wants more PT he should earn it with his play on the floor. Its really pretty simple.
It's really not that unique. You similar situations where coaches get fired and assistant coaches take over. Woodson for NY and Smart for Sac. It doesn't have any effect on how they coach so it's not really anything to consider.
I agree with you that he is sucking, but you can't say he's not worth his contract yet. How many games has he played?
I don't think anybody is disputing this. If Lin is not playing well, by all means sub him. It is that simple. Jeremy Lin will be the first to agree with the coach's decision. But Lin haters take it even further and actually relish in him not doing well. Even going so far as to come up with non-existent "LOF" positions to troll a response.
