Gotta give credit where credit is due Lin had a good game....Well the rockets in general played well...just need more defense to many 3s
Beautiful game from him tonight. His shooting form was right but, more importantly, he actually did something with his penetrations. Now, let's see if he keeps this up.
it's not just lin. our whole team is gradually getting better offensively. one of the benefits of having a team full of young and smart players.
It's good that he got his aggressiveness back, because driving in the lane was what he was best at. But the lane will not always be this open, and today he was up against pretty bad defense. He needs his shot back to counter act that. His shot didn't look bad today, so perhaps the shooting coach paid off. Let's hope he keeps this up.
Lin just needs to improve his jumper. His TOs have went down and his defense looks pretty good. His jumper and 3 point shot need serious work though for him to be an offensive threat on a consistent basis.
He didn't just play well he played like an idiot and the one time he had to shoot he shot it at least half a foot off. That's the problem.
This. The big difference between his play now & before is that the lane is open. But when the lane is open he needs to be able to hit outside shots. He seems a lot more aggressive now (maybe increased confidence, his body feeling better) was beating guys off the bounce & entering the lane at will. His shot still leaves a lot to be desire though. He also barely gets to the FT line now. I don't know if he is avoiding contact or he just isn't getting the calls he got in NY anymore....
This entire season is still a small sample size. 16 games is not enough to say with any certainty where Lin is going to land in terms of skill and shooting. However, every stat EXCEPT shooting has improved from last year to this year. And his last 4 games have been solid in terms of improved shooting efficiency. Still too early to say anything definitively, but Lin may be trending upward in terms of his shooting...
Westbrook had 5 TOs, L.Deng had 5 TOs and Harden had 5 TOs, all lead their respective teams to wins. 1 of the most overrated stat in the NBA, just like in NFL, yards per carry (Forsett 17.4 against Lions).
Look, I'm a Lakers fan and I can tell you that even Kobe has done the same, shooting and missing the buckets by a mile. You have to remember when a player is recovering from knee injuries, the last thing to come back is the shots, especially the jump shots. That's what happened. I want you to eat crows, man. So keep criticizing Lin. And I hope sooner than later he will be on the Lakers where D'Antoni will make him shine brighter than anything you have ever seen in this universe. Mark my words..
