Won't matter, I'm sure NY will make us wait out the entire 3 days to screw our cap space and then reach their decision. At least the 3rd year will give NY a pause to think about signing. Not sure if it's really a deal breaker though. NY is not afraid to spend, I think their target window is a 3 year window at best.
Here is my unprofessional, non-inside source opinion...if Lin is at the Rockets hotel then they (Lin and Rockets) probably know that the Knicks will not match. Lin can sign that offer sheet anywhere. He doesn't need to be in Vegas to do it. If the had informed Lin that they would match any offer, then he wouldn't need to waste his time to travel.
I dont really think it will hurt the cap much, we just amnestied Scola, I think that freed up space for us to do this regardless of what NYK did. I am sure Morey knew this. That is why Asik's deal will come after lin's
Have you ever signed a 3 year contract that will pay you a gross of $25+ million dollars? Me neither. But when I do I'm fine flying into wherever to sign it. Heck, put me on the next flight to the space station and I'll sign it there. I've bought and sold some houses - and while e-signatures have come a long way, I still had to show up in person and the title office for final signatures.
I agree, I buy and sell houses as well. Offer sheets can be e-signed and faxed or emailed. When it comes time for the title, you're there in person. If the Knicks have indeed told Lin that they will guarantee a match, he doesn't fly out there. IMO, he hasn't talked to the Knicks about matching or else he would be that nervous.
LIN is a joke. Didn't want to play in playoffs vs. Heat, because he was only 85% ready. He rejected invite to play on select team for olympic team. Probably because they would made him look like a middle schooler.
Any credibility you had you lost when you started typing! Wish there was a way to give negative rep. Too many people need it
