Does it really? I can only imagine how much money they will sign him for on his next contract. He got that Nike contract and he was undrafted. Was there any other player who went undrafted to get a shoe deal?

Kobe is also in China as well lol, Nike is getting a lot out of him.

Seems like a good agent. Got Turkoglu his massive deal, Walton $6M, and somehow got Lin out of New York.

Nope my bad. Did research and it said that Nike extended his contract. Didn't say for how long or how much.

Oh alright. Do you know of any other player who went undrafted but still got a shoe deal?

Do you know any other player who is Asian American, graduated at Harvard and went on to play in the nba? Those people giving out this kind of dollars are smart businessmen. They're not randomly blowing their money. His 1st contract with Nike was probably worth next to nothing anyway.

Also, from what I read, Lin's yet to extend with Nike. He will probably receive a big deal soon.

Nike (and all shoe companies) throw out a ton of money every year. To a certain extent they do "randomly" blow their money. They sponsor teams and start building that relationship very early on (i.e. AAU teams) with the hope that if a kid beats those astronomical odds and makes it to the NBA, he'll sign with us.

With the amount of money spent every year "building relationships" on kids years away from the NBA it really seems like a no-brainer to sign the only Asian baller around.

He talked about his summer training, nearly giving up bball, Yao Ming, his new contract, Rose and Rondo, life at Harvard. Nothing too interesting. Basically the same stuff you expected him to say. Lol.

a bit interesting when commenting about Rose and Rondo:

Bj news:There are many great pgs in NBA. Your experience in competing with them?

JLin: Last season, I have interacted with Wall, Rose and Rondo. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to play against them. I am most impressed by Rose and Rondo. Rose has great speed, too fast. We've chated privately. The most important factor of his success is the extra efforts that he put in. I also wish to have good speed, but last season we were having the same problem and troubled by injuries. I hope Ross can recover soon.As for Rondo, his great vision and the ability to read the games are rare among players our age. He is the soul and hope of the future of Boston. He is my most favourite athlete. His talent can be fully realised in Boston. I hope I'm able do the same henceforth.

Mad thanks umberto. Cool to know that he talked to Rose privately. They are both similar people, both very humble and gym rats. And I like what he said about Rondo and him hoping to realize his potential in Houston like Rondo did in Boston. I think Lin can do it. Can you do a translation as to what he said about his summer training umberto or cara?
